Drama Script

1. SCENE 1 — LIVING ROOM — DAY

The living room is quiet. Bethany and Brooke sit together, casually talking.

Across the room, Larry sits with his phone in his hand. He is talking to Sharra on the phone.

Bethany occasionally glances toward Larry, waiting for him to leave the house.

LARRY

Hey, Sharra. Are you ready?

A small smile appears on Larry’s face.

LARRY

Come on, let’s go shopping today. We can spend some time together.

Brooke continues talking, unaware of what is going through Bethany’s mind.

Bethany keeps watching Larry closely.

She clearly wants to talk to Brooke privately.

Larry eventually gets up and gets ready to leave the house.

LARRY

Alright, I’m heading out. I’ll see you later.

Larry walks toward the door.

Bethany watches him as he leaves.

The door closes.

A little while later, Brooke gets up and heads toward her bedroom.

Bethany follows her.

2. SCENE 2 — BROOKE’S BEDROOM — CONTINUOUS

Brooke sits on the edge of the bed, scrolling through her phone.

Bethany enters the room and closes the door.

Brooke looks up.

BROOKE

What?

Bethany sits nearby.

Her expression becomes serious.

BETHANY

Brooke, I’m telling you this because someone needs to make you understand.

Brooke puts her phone down.

BETHANY

If you don’t get your life together, you’re going to end up just like your mom.

Brooke’s expression immediately changes.

BETHANY

Look at what’s happening right in front of you. Your dad just called Sharra and asked her to go shopping with him.

Bethany shakes her head.

BETHANY

You need to start making better choices. I don’t want you to keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

Brooke becomes visibly irritated.

BROOKE

You don’t get to decide how I live my life.

Bethany leans forward slightly.

BETHANY

I’m just warning you while there’s still time.

Brooke picks up her phone again, as if she wants the conversation to end.

Bethany suddenly changes the subject.

BETHANY

And you’re not seeing Isaiah tonight.

Brooke slowly looks up.

BROOKE

Why?

BETHANY

Because you’ve gotten way too comfortable. Maybe you need to slow down and think about what you’re doing.

Brooke becomes even more angry.

BROOKE

Why do you keep bringing Isaiah into everything?

Bethany remains silent.

Brooke looks at her suspiciously.

BROOKE

What’s going on between you and Isaiah?

Bethany’s face immediately hardens.

BETHANY

Enough!

Brooke stands up.

BETHANY

Enough, Brooke. Don’t cross the line.

Brooke picks up her phone.

3. SCENE 3 — BROOKE CALLS LARRY — MOMENTS LATER

Brooke quickly calls Larry.

Bethany looks at her worriedly.

BROOKE

Dad, come home. Please, come home right now.

Larry answers from outside.

LARRY

Brooke? What happened?

Brooke looks directly at Bethany.

BROOKE

Just come home.

Brooke hangs up.

Bethany moves toward her.

BETHANY

What did you just do?

Brooke’s anger finally explodes.

She starts pushing Bethany away, and the argument becomes physical.

Bethany tries to defend herself.

Suddenly, the bedroom door opens.

Larry and Sharra quickly enter.

Sharra immediately grabs Brooke and pulls her back.

SHARRA

Brooke! Stop! Calm down!

Larry looks at both Brooke and Bethany, completely confused.

LARRY

What happened?

Brooke is breathing heavily.

LARRY

Why are you two fighting?

Bethany points toward Sharra.

BETHANY

This is all happening because of her!

Larry’s expression becomes serious.

LARRY

Leave Sharra out of this.

Bethany refuses to back down.

BETHANY

Why should I?

She points toward Larry and Sharra.

BETHANY

You two are always together. You really think no one can see what’s going on?

SHARRA

What are you talking about?

Larry steps forward.

LARRY

Bethany, enough.

Bethany becomes even angrier.

BETHANY

No! You want to know why I’m saying this?

Everyone falls silent.

Bethany looks directly at Larry.

BETHANY

You keep spending time with Sharra and then expect everyone to pretend that nothing is happening.

LARRY

You’re making accusations without knowing the whole story.

BETHANY

And what about what happened between you two before? You think everyone has forgotten about it?

Sharra’s expression changes.

She realizes how serious of a thing Bethany has just said.

SHARRA

Don’t you ever talk about that in front of me again.

Larry steps between them.

LARRY

Enough!

Bethany continues making accusations about Larry and Sharra’s past relationship and its painful consequences.

Her words become increasingly emotional.

BETHANY

You two hid everything because you didn’t want anyone to find out!

SHARRA

You have no idea what you’re talking about!

LARRY

You had no right to bring something this personal into this argument.

Brooke watches everyone, completely overwhelmed by everything that is happening.

4. SCENE 4 — LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS

Sharra angrily moves toward Bethany.

SHARRA

You think you can say whatever you want about me?

Bethany stands her ground.

BETHANY

I’m saying what everyone else is too afraid to say.

Sharra takes another step forward.

Larry immediately stops her.

LARRY

Sharra, no. Walk away and calm down.

Sharra tries to control herself.

Brooke stands nearby, watching all the adults argue.

BROOKE

This is why I didn’t want to say anything.

Everyone looks at Brooke.

There is frustration in her eyes.

BROOKE

I just wanted Dad to come home because Bethany wouldn’t leave me alone.

Bethany looks at Brooke.

For the first time, she realizes how far things have gone.

Larry takes a deep breath.

LARRY

Everyone calm down.

He looks at Bethany.

LARRY

We can talk about this, but we’re not going to keep fighting like this.

Then he looks at Brooke.

LARRY

And you need to understand that getting angry isn’t going to solve anything either.

Brooke lowers her eyes.

Sharra remains silent, but she is still visibly upset.

Bethany folds her arms.

Silence fills the room once again.

For now, the argument is over, but the tension between all of them has grown stronger than ever.

FADE OUT.

5. KEY CONFLICT — FAMILY TENSION

The confrontation leaves everyone emotionally overwhelmed as old issues and new accusations collide.

6. BETHANY’S WARNING

Bethany believes Brooke needs to change her choices before she repeats mistakes from the past.

7. BROOKE’S FRUSTRATION

Brooke feels that Bethany is interfering too much in her personal life and becomes increasingly defensive.

8. LARRY RETURNS

Larry returns after Brooke calls him, only to discover that the disagreement has become much more serious.

9. SHARRA’S REACTION

Sharra becomes upset when Bethany brings up sensitive issues involving her past with Larry.

10. ENDING — TENSION REMAINS

Although the argument temporarily ends, the unresolved tension between Bethany, Brooke, Larry, and Sharra remains stronger than ever.
