1. The Beginning and a Web of Promises
The friendship between Isaiah and Brooke rooted back to the innocent, beautiful days of their childhood. As time passed, this bond transformed into a deep, romantic relationship.
Isaiah would often look into Brooke’s eyes and paint grand pictures of their future together.
“Brooke, no matter what happens, even if the world turns upside down, I will only marry you. You are my first and last choice.”
Brooke, being a simple and emotional girl, took Isaiah’s words as absolute truth. She trusted him blindly and made him the center of her universe.
2. Shifting Tides and Growing Fissures
As soon as they finished school, Brooke began planning for her higher education and career. She was an ambitious, hardworking girl whose dream was to earn a degree from a top university.
However, when she shared her academic aspirations with Isaiah, his demeanor noticeably changed. Isaiah wanted her to marry quickly and settle down as a homemaker, whereas Brooke believed she had every right to complete her education before or alongside marriage.
Meanwhile, Brooke’s family strongly opposed the marriage. They were uncomfortable with Isaiah’s irresponsible attitude and uncertain career prospects and feared that Brooke’s dreams would be stifled.

Instead of standing by Brooke or trying to win over her family, he immediately sought an easy way out. Coldness replaced his affection.
