When Wayne Kicks Amber and Shayla Out of the Podcast

WHEN WAYNE KICKS AMBER AND SHAYLA OUT OF THE PODCAST — D’NISHA FINALLY GETS WHAT SHE WANTS

A dramatic podcast rivalry reaches a breaking point.
INT. WAYNE’S PODCAST STUDIO – AFTERNOON

The podcast studio is unusually tense.

Amber and Shayla sit together near the recording table, quietly discussing the latest problems surrounding the podcast.

Across the room, Wayne stands near the control desk.

His expression is serious.

D’Nisha watches from a distance, her arms crossed.

She has been frustrated for days.

The constant rivalry between her, Amber, and Shayla has created tension throughout the podcast.

Wayne finally walks toward them.

WAYNE

Amber. Shayla.

Both women look up.

AMBER

What’s going on, Wayne?

SHAYLA

Why do you look so serious?

Wayne stops in front of them.

He takes a deep breath before speaking.

WAYNE

Because I’ve had enough.

Amber exchanges a confused look with Shayla.

AMBER

Enough of what?

Wayne points toward the podcast equipment.

WAYNE

Enough of the arguing.
Enough of the disrespect.
And enough of both of you bringing drama into my podcast.

Shayla immediately stands.

SHAYLA

Drama?

We’re not the ones creating all this tension.

AMBER

Exactly. You know there have been problems between everybody.

Wayne shakes his head.

WAYNE

I don’t care who started it.

What I care about is my podcast.

And right now, both of you are ruining it.

The room suddenly becomes silent.

D’Nisha watches carefully.

A small sense of relief appears on her face.

AMBER

Wayne, you can’t seriously blame everything on us.

WAYNE

I’m not blaming everything on you.

But I am telling you that I’m done allowing this situation to continue.

Shayla steps closer.

SHAYLA

So what are you saying?

Wayne looks directly at both women.

WAYNE

I’m saying that you’re both out.

AMBER

What?

SHAYLA

Out of the podcast?

WAYNE

Yes.

Both of you.

Amber looks shocked.

AMBER

You’re kicking us out?

WAYNE

I’m removing the problem before it destroys everything I built.

Shayla looks toward D’Nisha.

She immediately realizes what is happening.

SHAYLA

This is because of D’Nisha, isn’t it?

Wayne remains silent for a moment.

D’Nisha slowly steps forward.

D’NISHA

Maybe you should stop blaming Wayne for everything.

AMBER

You wanted this, didn’t you?

D’NISHA

I wanted the rivalry to end.

That’s all.

SHAYLA

No.

You wanted us gone.

D’NISHA

I wanted peace.

Every time I came into this podcast, there was another argument.

Another accusation.

Another problem.

I’m tired of it.

AMBER

You could have talked to us instead of getting Wayne to remove us.

D’Nisha pauses.

D’NISHA

Maybe I should have.

But nothing changed when we talked.

WAYNE

Enough.

I’m not letting this become another argument.

AMBER

After everything I’ve done for this podcast, this is how you treat me?

Wayne’s expression softens slightly, but his decision remains firm.

WAYNE

I appreciate what you’ve done.

But I have to protect my business.

AMBER

And protecting your business means choosing D’Nisha over us?

Wayne looks at D’Nisha, then back at Amber.

WAYNE

This isn’t about choosing sides.

This is about ending the conflict.

SHAYLA

You really believe kicking us out is going to solve everything?

WAYNE

I believe it gives everyone a chance to move forward.

Shayla looks around the studio.

She slowly shakes her head.

SHAYLA

I never thought it would end like this.

Amber picks up her belongings from the table.

Her eyes remain fixed on Wayne.

AMBER

You’re going to regret this.

Wayne doesn’t respond.

Amber turns toward the door.

Before leaving, she stops.

AMBER

You should remember one thing, Wayne.

People don’t forget how you treat them when they helped you build something.

Wayne watches her quietly.

Shayla grabs her bag.

She looks at D’Nisha.

SHAYLA

Congratulations.

You got exactly what you wanted.

D’Nisha’s expression changes.

For the first time, she looks uncertain.

D’NISHA

Shayla—

SHAYLA

Don’t.

She walks toward the door.

Amber follows.

The door closes behind them.

The studio becomes completely silent.

D’NISHA

Are you okay?

Wayne slowly looks around the empty studio.

WAYNE

I don’t know.

D’NISHA

You did the right thing.

Wayne doesn’t answer immediately.

He looks at the empty chairs where Amber and Shayla used to sit.

WAYNE

I hope I did.

D’NISHA

The podcast will be better without all that fighting.

WAYNE

That’s what I’m hoping.

OUTSIDE THE STUDIO

Amber and Shayla walk down the hallway.

Amber is visibly angry.

AMBER

She planned this.

SHAYLA

I know.

Amber stops walking.

AMBER

D’Nisha wanted us gone, and Wayne gave her exactly what she wanted.

Shayla looks back toward the studio door.

SHAYLA

But this isn’t over.

AMBER

What are you thinking?

SHAYLA

If Wayne thinks removing us means the rivalry is finished, he’s wrong.

AMBER

Then maybe it’s time we start something of our own.

BACK INSIDE THE STUDIO

Wayne sits alone at the podcast table.

D’Nisha watches him.

The cameras remain off.

The microphones are silent.

Wayne looks at the empty seats once again.

WAYNE

I wanted peace.

D’NISHA

And now you have it.

WAYNE

Do I?

D’Nisha doesn’t answer.

A long silence fills the room.

Outside, Amber and Shayla disappear down the hallway.

Inside, Wayne realizes that removing two people may not have ended the problem.

It may have only created a new one.
