Bethany Discovers Jade Is a Call Girl — Then Gets Her Arrested for Theft!

Bethany had never imagined that the woman smiling at her across the cruise ship’s elegant lounge would become the reason her marriage and friendships would descend into chaos. She had invited herself to believe that Jade was simply another woman enjoying the luxurious cruise, but one unexpected conversation would reveal a truth that Bethany could never ignore.

It began when Bethany overheard Purnell speaking quietly with Larry near the private lounge. They thought nobody was listening, but Bethany had stopped just around the corner when she heard Jade’s name.

PURNELL: “You need to be careful, Larry. Bethany is starting to notice how much time you spend with Jade.”

LARRY: “I know what I’m doing. She doesn’t need to know everything about my personal life.”

PURNELL: “That’s what you said last time. If Bethany discovers what Jade does for a living, this entire cruise is going to turn into a disaster.”

Bethany froze. Her fingers tightened around the glass she was carrying, and her heart began to pound. What did Jade do for a living that Larry and Purnell were so desperate to hide?

Before she could hear anything more, Larry walked away, leaving Purnell alone. Bethany stepped into the corridor, forcing herself to look calm.

BETHANY: “Purnell, what exactly were you talking about?”

Purnell turned sharply. For a moment, his expression revealed genuine alarm, but he quickly replaced it with a careless smile.

PURNELL: “Nothing you need to worry about. Larry and I were discussing something personal.”

BETHANY: “Then why did you mention Jade? And why did you sound so afraid of me finding out what she does?”

PURNELL: “You heard half a conversation, Bethany. Don’t turn it into something it isn’t.”

He walked away before she could question him again. Bethany remained in the corridor, staring after him. She had spent enough time around Larry to recognize when somebody was hiding something.

That evening, she decided to confront Jade directly.

Bethany found her sitting beside the windows overlooking the ocean, dressed elegantly and chatting on her phone. Jade looked completely relaxed until she noticed Bethany approaching.

BETHANY: “We need to talk.”

JADE: “About what?”

BETHANY: “About you, Larry, and Purnell. I want the truth.”

Jade slowly lowered her phone.

JADE: “I have no idea what you think you know, but I haven’t done anything to you.”

BETHANY: “Then explain why Larry and Purnell are whispering about your profession as if it’s some terrible secret.”

For the first time, Jade looked uncomfortable. She glanced around the lounge before answering.

JADE: “My private life is none of your business.”

BETHANY: “It became my business when my husband started hiding things from me.”

JADE: “Maybe you should ask your husband why he’s interested in my life instead of blaming me for everything.”

Jade stood and walked away, leaving Bethany more furious than before. Her response had not answered the question. Instead, it had confirmed that something was being concealed.

Bethany went straight to Larry’s cabin.

When Larry opened the door, he looked irritated to see her standing there.

LARRY: “What’s wrong now?”

BETHANY: “I want you to tell me the truth about Jade.”

Larry’s expression changed.

LARRY: “What about her?”

BETHANY: “I heard you and Purnell talking. I know you have been hiding something from me. Is Jade a call girl?”

The question hung between them.

Larry looked away, unable to respond immediately. That silence hurt Bethany more than any insult could have.

BETHANY: “Oh, my goodness. You’re not even going to deny it?”

LARRY: “Bethany, this isn’t the place for this conversation.”

BETHANY: “Of course it isn’t! Nothing is ever the right place when I ask you a question you don’t want to answer.”

LARRY: “Keep your voice down.”

BETHANY: “You expect me to stay quiet while you and Purnell carry on with this secret arrangement? Tell me what has been happening between you, Purnell, and Jade!”

Larry stepped into the corridor and closed the cabin door behind him.

LARRY: “You don’t understand the situation.”

BETHANY: “Then explain it to me!”

LARRY: “Jade has her own life. Whatever she does for money is her business.”

BETHANY: “And your relationship with her? Is that your business too?”

Larry said nothing. Bethany stared at him, realizing that he was more concerned about protecting Jade than protecting their marriage.

She walked away before he could offer another excuse.

The next morning, Bethany received the confirmation she had been dreading. During a tense conversation, she learned that Jade had been involved in paid intimate arrangements and that both Larry and Purnell had been involved with her. The revelation left Bethany feeling humiliated, furious, and betrayed.

She had suspected that Larry was keeping secrets, but she had never expected him to become involved in a situation like this while traveling with her.

Bethany confronted Purnell near the ship’s upper deck.

BETHANY: “You knew everything, didn’t you?”

PURNELL: “Bethany, please calm down.”

BETHANY: “Don’t tell me to calm down! You knew about Jade, you knew about Larry, and you both thought I was too foolish to figure it out.”

PURNELL: “Nobody was trying to humiliate you.”

BETHANY: “Then why did you lie to me?”

Purnell rubbed his forehead and glanced toward the ocean.

PURNELL: “I can’t change what happened. But whatever you’re planning to do, don’t make a decision you’ll regret.”

Bethany gave him a bitter look.

BETHANY: “You should have thought about that before you helped turn my marriage into a joke.”

From that moment, Bethany stopped trying to get explanations from Larry and Purnell. She decided that Jade would not leave the cruise without facing consequences.

Her opportunity came later that afternoon.

While several passengers were preparing for their arrival at the port, Bethany approached the ship’s security desk. She reported that she believed Jade had stolen a valuable personal item from her and insisted that the matter be investigated. Bethany was determined to make Jade answer for what she believed had happened.

However, Bethany did not have clear proof that Jade had taken anything. Her anger had begun to blur the difference between what she knew and what she suspected.

When Jade learned that a theft complaint had been made against her, she marched toward Bethany, her face burning with indignation.

JADE: “You accused me of stealing?”

Bethany stood near the exit where passengers were gathering their belongings.

BETHANY: “I reported what happened. If you haven’t done anything wrong, you can explain yourself to the police.”

JADE: “You know exactly why you’re doing this! You’re angry because of Larry and Purnell, so you’re trying to destroy my reputation.”

BETHANY: “Maybe you should have thought about the consequences before getting involved with my husband.”

JADE: “Your husband made his own choices! You can’t blame me for everything he did.”

For a moment, Bethany had no answer. Jade’s words struck a painful truth, but Bethany refused to show how deeply they affected her.

BETHANY: “I’m finished listening to your excuses.”

The cruise ship finally reached port. As passengers began disembarking, two police officers arrived to speak with Jade about the theft allegation. Jade looked from the officers to Bethany, who stood several steps away with her arms crossed.

JADE: “You’re really doing this? After everything you’ve discovered, this is how you’re getting your revenge?”

BETHANY: “You can tell the officers your side of the story.”

The officers explained that they needed to investigate the complaint and asked Jade to accompany them. She protested that she had done nothing wrong, but she agreed to speak with them.

Bethany watched as Jade was escorted off the ship and toward the waiting police vehicle. A wave of satisfaction briefly washed over her, followed by an uneasy feeling she could not explain.

Larry appeared beside her just as the officers were preparing to leave.

LARRY: “What have you done?”

Bethany turned toward him.

BETHANY: “I made sure Jade answered for what happened.”

LARRY: “You accused her of theft? Do you have any proof?”

Bethany’s confidence faltered for a fraction of a second.

BETHANY: “Why are you so worried about her? You should be worried about what you’ve done to me.”

LARRY: “This isn’t about us anymore. If your accusation is false, you could make everything worse for yourself.”

Before Bethany could respond, one of the officers returned from the vehicle carrying a small evidence bag. Inside was a piece of jewelry Bethany recognized immediately.

The officer approached her.

POLICE OFFICER: “Ma’am, we need to ask you some questions about this item. The suspect says she has information that could change the direction of our investigation.”

Bethany stared at the jewelry, her face suddenly pale.

BETHANY: “What information?”

The officer glanced toward Jade, who was watching them through the open vehicle door.

POLICE OFFICER: “She claims somebody else placed the item among her belongings. And she says that person is standing right here.”

Larry slowly turned toward Bethany.

Jade lifted her chin and spoke loudly enough for everyone nearby to hear.

JADE: “If Bethany wants to accuse me of stealing, then she should explain what really happened that night—and why Larry is so desperate to keep it secret.”

Bethany’s stomach tightened as Larry’s expression changed. Whatever Jade was about to reveal, it was clear that the theft accusation had opened a door to something far more dangerous than Bethany had expected.

And when the officer asked Larry to step forward next, he looked at Bethany and whispered four words that made her blood run cold.

LARRY: “You have no idea.”
