Mariah’s House — Evening
Mariah sits quietly in the living room, scrolling through her phone. Her expression suddenly changes. She has just received news that Brooke is in Philly with Isaiah. Mariah slowly puts her phone down. Her eyes fill with anger and jealousy.
MARIAH: Brooke is in Philly with Isaiah?
She takes a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. But the thought of Isaiah spending the night with another girl makes her furious. A few moments later, the twins walk into the room. They immediately notice Mariah’s expression.
TWIN 1: Mariah, we heard that Isaiah and Brooke are together in Philly.
Mariah looks at her sharply.
MARIAH: What exactly do you mean by together?
The twins exchange nervous looks.
TWIN 2: We don’t know for sure, but… maybe something is going on between them.
Mariah’s face becomes tense. She stands up.
MARIAH: No. I need to know the truth.
She walks toward the window and looks outside. Her jealousy slowly turns into determination.
MARIAH: If Isaiah thinks he can do this to me, he’s wrong.
The twins remain silent. Mariah turns back toward them.
MARIAH: I’m going to Philly.
Mariah Makes Her Decision — Night
Mariah quietly prepares to leave. She does not tell her family where she is going. She grabs her belongings and walks toward the door. Before leaving, she stops for a moment. Her emotions are clearly visible on her face.
MARIAH: I need answers.
She leaves the house. The door closes behind her.
Philly — Later That Night
Mariah arrives in Philly. She looks around before making her way toward Isaiah’s house. Her heart is beating quickly. She keeps thinking about what the twins told her. Finally, she reaches the house. Mariah stands outside for a moment. She takes a deep breath and walks inside.
Isaiah’s House — Continuous
The house is unusually quiet. Mariah slowly walks through the hallway. She looks around, searching for Isaiah. Then she notices the bedroom door. It is slightly open. Mariah pushes the door open. Her expression immediately changes. Brooke is lying on the bed. Mariah freezes. For a moment, nobody says anything. Then Brooke looks toward the doorway.
BROOKE: Mariah?
Mariah stares at her. Her jealousy and anger become overwhelming.
MARIAH: So it’s true.
Brooke quickly sits up.
BROOKE: Mariah, wait. You don’t understand.
Mariah walks toward her.
MARIAH: Then explain it to me.
Brooke gets off the bed.
BROOKE: There’s nothing going on between us.
Mariah shakes her head.
MARIAH: I’m supposed to believe that?
Brooke tries to calm her down.
BROOKE: Please, just listen to me.
Mariah loses her temper. She pushes Brooke away, causing Brooke to fall to the floor. Brooke looks shocked.
BROOKE: Mariah, stop!
Mariah moves toward her angrily. She grabs Brooke and starts striking at her. Brooke tries to protect herself.
BROOKE: Someone help me!
Suddenly, footsteps come from the hallway. Isaiah rushes into the room. His face fills with shock.
ISAIAH: Mariah! Stop!
Mariah refuses to listen.
MARIAH: You lied to me!
Isaiah steps between them.
ISAIAH: Mariah, listen to me. This is not what you think!
Mariah looks at him with tears of anger in her eyes.
MARIAH: Then why is she here?
Isaiah looks toward Brooke.
ISAIAH: Because you misunderstood everything.
Mariah shakes her head.
MARIAH: I saw her here with you. What else am I supposed to think?
The Confrontation
Isaiah carefully tries to separate Mariah from Brooke. Brooke remains on the floor, frightened and confused by what just happened.
ISAIAH: Mariah, you need to calm down.
MARIAH: Don’t tell me to calm down!
Her voice echoes through the room.
MARIAH: You have no idea how I felt when I heard that you were spending time with her!
Isaiah takes a breath.
ISAIAH: I never wanted to hurt you.
Mariah looks directly into his eyes.
MARIAH: Then why did you let me believe that Brooke was more important to you?
Isaiah pauses.
ISAIAH: She isn’t.
Mariah looks at Brooke. Brooke slowly stands up.
BROOKE: Mariah, I swear there is nothing romantic between Isaiah and me.
Mariah remains silent. Her anger is still there, but she is beginning to listen.
MARIAH: Then why were you on his bed?
Brooke looks uncomfortable.
BROOKE: It’s not what you think.
Isaiah steps forward.
ISAIAH: She came here because we needed to talk about something important. That’s all.
Mariah looks between them. She is still suspicious.
Mariah’s Regret
The room becomes quiet. Mariah finally notices Brooke’s frightened expression. She realizes how far her anger has taken her. Her expression softens slightly.
MARIAH: I… I was so angry.
Brooke says nothing. Mariah looks down.
MARIAH: I thought you were taking Isaiah away from me.
Isaiah looks at Mariah.
ISAIAH: You should have talked to me instead of coming here like this.
Mariah wipes away a tear.
MARIAH: I was scared.
ISAIAH: Scared of losing me?
Mariah nods.
MARIAH: Yes.
Isaiah takes a step closer.
ISAIAH: You can’t let jealousy control you.
Mariah looks toward Brooke.
MARIAH: I’m sorry.
Brooke remains quiet for a moment.
BROOKE: I just wish you had asked me first.
Mariah nods slowly.
MARIAH: You’re right.
An Uncertain Ending
Mariah walks toward the bedroom door. Before leaving, she turns around. She looks at Isaiah one last time.
MARIAH: I came here thinking I already knew the truth.
Isaiah watches her silently.
MARIAH: But maybe I was wrong.
She walks out of the room. Isaiah looks at Brooke. Neither of them says anything. Outside, Mariah walks down the hallway alone. Her anger has disappeared, replaced by regret and uncertainty. She stops near the front door. For the first time that night, she realizes that jealousy had made her act before knowing the truth. Mariah quietly opens the door. She steps outside. The door closes behind her. The night is silent. But the questions between Mariah, Isaiah, and Brooke are far from over.
