When Bethany Returned Home

Bethany finally returned home after spending several days in Miami. She believed her husband Larry had missed her and that everything would return to normal. Although she had argued with Larry before leaving, she never imagined that her life was about to change forever. As she unlocked the front door, the house was unusually quiet. She smiled, thinking Larry might be preparing a surprise for her. Slowly, she walked toward the bedroom, carrying her suitcase with excitement. However, the moment she opened the bedroom door, her smile disappeared. She froze in complete shock.

A Painful Discovery

Larry was sitting comfortably on the bed beside Bethany’s own cousin, Charlotte. Both of them looked completely relaxed, as if they had been expecting Bethany to arrive. Charlotte was holding a folder in her hand. She slowly pulled out a document titled “Divorce Papers” and showed it to Bethany with a confident smile. Bethany’s heart sank. She could not believe that the cousin she had trusted all her life was sitting beside her husband, smiling while holding divorce papers. Tears instantly filled Bethany’s eyes as she struggled to understand what was happening.

Larry’s Shocking Confession

Larry stood up and looked directly at Bethany without showing any regret. He calmly said, “Bethany, I am going to marry your cousin Charlotte. Our relationship is over. You made my life difficult for a long time, and now it’s time for both of us to live in peace. These divorce papers will officially end our marriage.” His words felt like knives piercing Bethany’s heart. She couldn’t believe that the man she loved could say such cruel things without any emotion. Charlotte remained beside Larry, smiling silently as though she had already won.

Bethany Confronts Charlotte

Bethany turned toward Charlotte with tears running down her face. She asked, “So this is the real reason you left me alone in Miami and came back early? You planned all of this behind my back?” Charlotte looked at Bethany without guilt. She simply smiled and said nothing. That silence hurt Bethany even more than any words could have. Bethany realized that the trip to Miami had never been a coincidence. Everything had been carefully planned while she was away. The cousin she trusted like a sister had betrayed her in the worst possible way.

A Broken Heart… But One Last Secret

Bethany looked back at Larry and said, “You should never have done this. I loved you with all my heart, and I never imagined you would betray me with my own cousin. One day, both of you will understand the pain you’ve caused.” Larry simply smiled and placed his arm around Charlotte as if Bethany no longer mattered. Bethany quietly picked up the divorce papers and walked toward the door. Before leaving the room, she turned around one last time. A small smile suddenly appeared on her face.

Neither Larry nor Charlotte noticed the envelope still lying inside Bethany’s handbag. It contained a document that could completely change everything they believed they had won. As Bethany walked out of the house, she whispered to herself, “The real game hasn’t even started yet…”
