Brooke’s Prayer for Isaiah
What if the prayer Brooke whispered to God tonight became the moment Isaiah finally realized what he was about to lose?

Brooke’s Prayer for Isaiah

The church was almost completely empty when Brooke walked quietly through the heavy wooden doors. Outside, the world continued moving, cars passing and people living ordinary lives. But inside, everything felt still.

Brooke slowly walked toward the altar. Her eyes were swollen from crying, her shoulders exhausted, and her heart felt heavier with every step. She had spent so long wondering what was happening to Isaiah that she no longer knew whether she was fighting for love or fighting against the truth.

Isaiah was her first love. That was why letting go felt impossible.

1. Alone Before the Cross

Brooke dropped to her knees before the altar. Her hands immediately came together, fingers trembling as tears rolled down her cheeks.

She stared toward the cross above her, desperately searching for an answer she couldn’t find anywhere else.

She remembered Isaiah walking away from her. She remembered the unanswered messages, the distance in his voice, and the painful feeling that other girls were slowly becoming more important to him.

Yet despite everything, part of Brooke still believed there was something worth saving.

2. A Heart Torn Between Hope and Fear

Warm light from the stained-glass windows fell across Brooke’s tearful face. Beautiful colors covered the floor, but darker shadows surrounded her.

It looked almost like the inside of her heart—half filled with hope and half consumed by fear.

She wanted to believe Isaiah still loved her. She wanted to believe his behavior was temporary, that he was confused, and that somewhere beneath the distance was the same boy she had fallen in love with.

But another terrifying thought kept returning.

What if Isaiah had already chosen someone else?

3. Brooke’s Desperate Prayer

“God, reveal the truth to me. I love Isaiah so much, but he keeps ignoring me, walking away from me, and trying to get involved with other girls. God, please save my life and my heart. Isaiah is my first love, and I don’t want to lose him. If he is meant to be in my life, please turn his heart back toward me. But if he isn’t, give me the strength to accept the truth.”

An open Bible rested beside her. Several tissues were scattered around it. Brooke slowly placed her trembling hand on its pages.

Her voice became quieter.

“Please, God… don’t let this relationship destroy me.”

For the first time that night, Brooke wasn’t only asking God to bring Isaiah back. She was asking for the strength to survive if he didn’t.

4. Someone Standing Outside

Brooke didn’t hear the church doors open.

She didn’t hear the quiet footsteps approaching from outside.

And she certainly didn’t know that someone was standing several yards away, hidden by the darkness near the entrance.

Isaiah had arrived.

He had not planned to see Brooke. He hadn’t expected to walk into a church and find the girl who loved him more than anyone kneeling alone at the altar.

But now he couldn’t move.

He simply watched.

5. Isaiah Hears the Truth

Isaiah’s expression slowly changed as he heard Brooke’s broken voice.

Shock turned into guilt. Guilt became regret.

He had convinced himself that Brooke would always be there. He had ignored her messages, walked away from difficult conversations, and allowed other girls to enter a relationship that was already falling apart.

But hearing Brooke beg God for strength made everything feel different.

Isaiah suddenly understood something terrifying.

Brooke wasn’t simply waiting for him anymore.

She was preparing herself to live without him.

He took one hesitant step forward.

Then stopped.

Should he walk inside and finally tell her the truth?

Or would his arrival only cause Brooke more pain?

6. The Moment Everything Could Change

Brooke slowly wiped her tears and closed her eyes.

“God,” she whispered, “if Isaiah is really meant for me, let him come back for the right reasons. Not because he’s afraid of losing me. Not because someone else rejected him. Let him come back because he finally understands my value.”

Outside, Isaiah’s eyes filled with tears.

His hand slowly reached toward the church door.

Brooke remained completely unaware that he was standing only moments away.

Then Isaiah heard her final words.

“Give me the courage to walk away if loving him means losing myself.”

Isaiah froze.

His hand remained on the door.

For the first time, he realized that Brooke’s love was no longer something he could take for granted.

He could walk inside.

He could finally confess everything.

He could tell Brooke why he had been distant, why he had been allowing other girls into his life, and whether his heart still belonged to her.

But what Isaiah didn’t know was that Brooke had already made one decision in her heart.

If he walked through those doors, he would have only one chance to prove that he truly loved her.

The church fell silent.

Isaiah slowly pushed the door open.

And Brooke finally heard footsteps behind her…

She turned around—and her eyes widened.

Because the person standing there was the one person she never expected to see.

Isaiah.

But what he said next could either save their relationship… or destroy it forever.
