Brooke Confronts Bethany After a Hurtful Argument

Bethany Finally Confronts Brooke
The tension inside the house had been building for some time, and Bethany finally decided that she had enough. She looked at Brooke and began questioning the choices Brooke had been making lately.
Bethany reminded Brooke that one day she was spending time with Isaiah and another day she was spending time with Cameron. To Bethany, Brooke seemed confused about what she really wanted, and she believed Brooke needed to take her life more seriously.
Bethany then brought Sharra into the conversation. She criticized the way Sharra continued to remain connected to Larry and Dre even after difficult relationship changes. Bethany suggested that Brooke was repeating the same patterns she had seen in her family.
Brooke Takes the Words Personally
Brooke tried to remain quiet, but Bethany’s comments were becoming more painful with every sentence. Brooke could accept advice about her own decisions, but hearing her mother being criticized was something she could not easily ignore.
She finally looked at Bethany with frustration and told her that she had crossed a line.

When Larry arrived home, Brooke immediately went to him. She explained the entire conversation and told him that Bethany had said several hurtful things about both her and Sharra.
Larry listened carefully. He could see that Brooke was genuinely upset, so he told her that he understood why she felt hurt. He then decided to speak with Bethany directly.
Larry told Bethany that regardless of what she thought about Brooke’s decisions, she should not speak to her in a way that made her feel disrespected.
Bethany Turns the Conversation Around
Instead of apologizing immediately, Bethany became defensive. She believed Larry was being unfair by taking Brooke’s side without considering everything that had happened.
She then turned the conversation toward Larry’s relationship with Sharra. Bethany reminded him that even though he and Sharra had gone through a divorce, he still seemed to find reasons to follow after her and remain involved in her life.
Larry became increasingly frustrated. He felt that Bethany was changing the subject instead of addressing what had happened with Brooke.
