Brooke and Isaiah: The Secret Behind the Call

One unexpected visit. One suspicious phone call. And a secret that could destroy everything.

01 · A Trip Meant to Bring Peace

Brooke had arrived in Philadelphia hoping to escape the emotional chaos surrounding her relationship with Isaiah. She needed space to think, breathe, and rediscover the confidence she had lost after weeks of uncertainty. Most importantly, she had decided not to tell Isaiah where she was going.

Before leaving, her father, Larry, had given her a serious warning. He knew how deeply she cared about Isaiah, but he also knew that love could make people overlook painful truths.

“Enjoy your trip, Brooke,” Larry had said. “But if Isaiah shows up again, protect your peace. If he lies to you or betrays your trust, don’t ignore it just because you love him. Have a good time, then come home safely.”

Brooke had promised she would listen. Yet she never imagined those words would return to her so soon.

02 · Mariah Makes a Suspicious Call

Across town, Isaiah’s phone suddenly rang. Mariah’s name flashed across the screen. He answered casually, but her first question immediately unsettled him.

“Isaiah, has Brooke come to see you?” Mariah asked.

“No,” he replied quickly. “Why would she come here? What happened?”

Mariah hesitated before revealing what she had heard: Brooke was in Philadelphia.

Isaiah went silent. He hadn’t received a message, a call, or even a hint from Brooke about the trip. Worse, Mariah seemed to know something he didn’t.

“How do you know she’s here?” he demanded.

“That doesn’t matter right now,” Mariah answered. “Just be careful about what you say.”

The warning made Isaiah nervous. He ended the call, grabbed his keys, and drove straight toward the place where he believed Brooke was staying. He had to speak to her before someone else did.

03 · An Explosive Confrontation at the Door

Brooke was relaxing inside when a loud knock interrupted the silence. She approached the door, opened it, and froze. Isaiah was standing on the porch, breathing heavily, as though he had rushed there.

Her surprise quickly turned into anger.

“What are you doing here?” she demanded.

“Brooke, I heard you were in town. Why didn’t you tell me?”

She stepped forward and stretched her arm toward the street, pointing firmly away from the house.

“Leave, Isaiah! Right now! I didn’t come here to listen to another one of your excuses!”

Isaiah spread both arms in disbelief. “What are you talking about? I came because I care about you!”

“You care about me?” Brooke snapped. “Then explain why Mariah keeps talking to you behind my back. Explain why she knew I was here before you did!”

Isaiah opened his mouth, then paused. For a moment, he seemed unable to find an answer.

04 · Isaiah’s Desperate Denial

“Brooke, listen to me,” Isaiah pleaded. “I have never cheated on you. I love you. You’re the only woman I want. Whatever Mariah told you, you’re misunderstanding it.”

Brooke folded her arms. “Then why did she call you about me? Why did you rush here the moment she told you where I was?”

“Because I was worried!” he insisted. “You disappeared without telling me anything.”

“I didn’t disappear. I took a trip. I don’t owe you my location every minute, especially when I can’t trust you.”

His expression changed from frustration to desperation. He stepped closer, but Brooke held up her hand to stop him.

“Don’t come any closer. You keep saying you love me, but your actions make me question everything.”

Isaiah shook his head. “Please don’t throw us away over a phone call.”

But Brooke had heard enough promises. What she needed was the truth.

05 · Larry’s Warning Comes Back

As Isaiah continued pleading, Brooke remembered the conversation with Larry before her departure. Her father hadn’t told her whom to love. He had reminded her that trust must be earned, not demanded.

Her voice softened, but her decision remained firm.

“My dad warned me this could happen,” she said. “He told me not to let someone keep hurting me just because I’m afraid to let go.”

“So you’re letting Larry decide our relationship?” Isaiah asked bitterly.

“No,” Brooke answered. “I’m finally deciding for myself.”

For the first time, Isaiah looked genuinely frightened that she might shut the door forever. He tried one final time to convince her that Mariah was only a friend and that nothing inappropriate had happened.

Then his phone rang.

Both of them looked down. Mariah’s name glowed on the screen. Isaiah immediately rejected the call, but the damage was done.

“That’s your answer,” Brooke whispered. “You can’t even explain why she’s calling you now.”

06 · The Message That Changes Everything

Before Isaiah could respond, Brooke’s own phone vibrated. The message came from an unknown number, and its contents made her stomach tighten.

“Brooke, Isaiah isn’t just hiding his conversations with Mariah. There’s a much bigger secret. If you want proof, be ready tomorrow at six.”

Brooke reread the words, wondering whether someone was warning her or deliberately trying to ruin her relationship. She slowly raised her eyes toward Isaiah.

“What else are you hiding from me?” she asked.

“Nothing,” he replied, but his voice sounded uncertain.

Then his gaze fell on her phone. He noticed the message, and the color drained from his face.

“Who sent that?” he asked sharply.

Brooke stepped back into the doorway. “That’s exactly what I intend to find out.”

She closed the door, leaving Isaiah outside with unanswered questions and a ringing phone.

Seconds later, another message appeared on Brooke’s screen. This one contained only five words: “Don’t tell Isaiah you’re coming.”

Was Mariah trying to expose Isaiah—or was someone manipulating all three of them? Tomorrow at six, Brooke might finally discover the truth.
