Bethany Finds Brooke Unconscious After Seeing Isaiah With Mariah
Bethany had never expected to walk into the house and find Brooke lying motionless on the floor. The moment she saw her daughter, her heart dropped.
Brooke was usually outspoken, energetic, and determined to prove that nothing could break her. But now she was completely still, and the sight immediately terrified Bethany.
Bethany dropped to her knees beside Brooke and carefully checked on her. Brooke was breathing, but she was unconscious. Bethany’s hands began to shake as she tried to understand what had happened.
A few moments later, Brooke slowly opened her eyes. She looked confused and weak, struggling to remember how she had ended up on the floor.
Brooke looked away. Her eyes immediately filled with tears.
Earlier that day, Brooke had been scrolling through her phone when she came across a video showing Isaiah spending time with Mariah. At first, Brooke tried to convince herself that there was nothing serious happening.
She watched the video again, hoping she had misunderstood what she was seeing. But the more she watched, the more hurt she became.
Brooke had trusted Isaiah. She believed their relationship meant something to him. Seeing him laughing and spending time with another girl made her feel betrayed and embarrassed.
Brooke put her phone down and tried to walk away from the situation, but her emotions became overwhelming.
Bethany gently held her hand. She knew Brooke was dealing with more emotional pain than she had initially realized.
Brooke admitted that she had been feeling extremely overwhelmed and had taken medicine that had been prescribed to her, hoping it would help her feel calmer.
Bethany immediately became concerned. She carefully checked the medication and its instructions and decided that Brooke needed professional medical attention after losing consciousness.
At the medical appointment, Brooke explained what had happened. The doctor reassured Bethany that Brooke needed to follow her medication instructions carefully and speak up whenever she felt overwhelmed rather than trying to handle everything alone.
On the way home, Bethany looked over at Brooke.
Brooke nodded. She admitted that she had been afraid Bethany would think she was being dramatic.
Brooke looked out the window. She still did not know what she was supposed to do about Isaiah.
That evening, Brooke returned to her room and looked at her phone again. She saw another post involving Isaiah and Mariah, but this time she did not react immediately.
She placed the phone on her desk and took a deep breath.
For the first time that day, Brooke realized she had a choice. She could continue chasing answers from someone who had already hurt her, or she could begin focusing on herself.
Bethany stood outside the bedroom door for a moment before quietly checking on her.
“I’m here if you need me,” she said.
Brooke looked up and gave her a small nod.
“Thank you, Mom.”
The situation with Isaiah was far from resolved, but one thing had changed. Brooke was beginning to understand that heartbreak could be painful without having to define her entire life.
Bethany knew that protecting Brooke meant helping her understand that her worth could never depend on whether Isaiah chose her or someone else.
