The afternoon is calm. Sunlight falls softly through the windows as Brooke walks into Charlotte’s place. Charlotte looks up and smiles. New Burger is already there, busy with his own thoughts.

Brooke takes a deep breath. She looks worried but determined.

I really need a job.

Charlotte

A job? What kind of job are you looking for?

Brooke

Honestly, I don’t know. I just need something that can help me.

Charlotte thinks for a moment. Suddenly, an idea comes to her.

Wait. There’s something happening in our building.

Brooke

What?

Charlotte

There’s a podcast being recorded there. Maybe they need someone to help.

Brooke’s expression changes. A little hope appears in her eyes.

You really think they might give me a job?

Charlotte

I can’t promise anything, but we can ask.

New Burger

A podcast job? That actually sounds interesting.

Brooke

I just hope they give me a chance.

Charlotte

Brooke nods. They leave together.

Scene 2 — The Building — Later

Charlotte, Brooke, and New Burger arrive at the building. The hallway is unusually busy. People are moving equipment around, carrying microphones and cameras.

Brooke

Wow. They’re really doing a podcast here.

Charlotte

I told you.

They walk farther down the hallway. A door opens nearby, and the sound of people talking comes from inside. Brooke stops for a moment.

Brooke

What if they say no?

Charlotte

Then we’ll keep looking. One “no” doesn’t mean you should give up.

Brooke

Okay. Let’s do it.

They continue toward the room.

Scene 3 — Podcast Room — Continuous

Wayne is inside the room, looking over the podcast setup. A microphone sits on the table. Headphones and recording equipment are arranged neatly nearby.

Wayne

Charlotte? What brings you here?

Charlotte

I wanted you to meet someone.

Brooke steps forward. She looks nervous, but she tries to stay confident.

Brooke

Hi, Wayne.

Wayne

Hi, Brooke.

Charlotte

Brooke is looking for a job. I thought maybe there could be something here for her.

Wayne

You’re looking for work?

Brooke

Yes. I’m willing to learn. I just need someone to give me an opportunity.

New Burger

She’s serious about it.

Wayne

Have you ever worked around a podcast before?

Brooke

Not really. But I can learn.

Wayne

Charlotte

See? I told you she’d be perfect for something like this.

Wayne

There’s a lot to do here. Setting things up, helping with equipment, keeping things organized…

Brooke

I can do that.

And sometimes things get stressful.

Wayne smiles slightly.

Scene 4 — The Decision

The room becomes quiet for a moment. Brooke waits for Wayne’s answer. Charlotte watches her closely. New Burger stands nearby, curious about what Wayne will decide.

Wayne finally walks toward Brooke.

Brooke

Wayne

I can give you a chance.

Brooke

Really?

Wayne

Charlotte

Looks like Brooke just got herself a new opportunity.

Brooke

She puts on the headphones. A small smile appears on her face.

New Burger
