Brooke Gets a Job Behind Larry’s Back

1. Bethany Takes Brooke to New Berger’s Office

Bethany had been thinking about Brooke’s future for a long time. She knew Brooke wanted to work, become independent, and prove that she could handle responsibility. One day, Bethany decided to take Brooke to her father New Berger’s office.

As they entered the office, Bethany looked at her father and said, “Dad, Brooke really wants to work. Please give her a job here in your office. She wants to do something productive and become independent.”

New Berger looked surprised. He turned toward Brooke and then asked Bethany a serious question.

“Does Larry know that Brooke is here?”

Bethany quickly responded, “I’ll tell Larry that I brought her here. Brooke wants to work, and there is nothing wrong with that.”

Brooke stood quietly beside Bethany, hoping New Berger would agree to give her a chance.

2. New Berger Warns Them About Larry

New Berger was still concerned. He knew Larry’s personality and immediately realized that Larry might not be happy about Brooke getting a job without discussing it with him first.

“Bethany, you know Larry,” New Berger said. “When he finds out that Brooke is working here, he is going to make a lot of noise. He may come here and demand an explanation.”

Brooke stepped forward and calmly replied, “Please give me a chance. I really want this job. I’ll work hard, and I’ll convince Larry myself. He will listen to me.”

New Berger looked at Brooke carefully. He could see that she was serious about wanting to work.

“I understand that you want an opportunity,” he said. “But if you work here, you have to take the responsibility seriously.”

Brooke immediately nodded.

“I understand. I promise I’ll work hard and I won’t disappoint you.”

3. Bethany Convinces Her Father

Bethany stepped in to support Brooke. She looked at New Berger and said, “Dad, Brooke will do a great job. She is serious about working, and I know she can handle it. Just give her one opportunity.”

New Berger remained silent for a few moments. He looked at Brooke and then at Bethany. Finally, he made his decision.

“Alright,” he said. “Brooke can work here.”

Brooke smiled with relief. She thanked New Berger and promised to prove herself.

“Thank you. I really appreciate this opportunity. I’ll make sure you never regret giving me this job.”

Bethany smiled because her plan had worked. But there was something else on her mind that Brooke did not yet understand.

4. Bethany Gives Brooke Important Instructions

After Brooke got the job, Bethany pulled her aside. Her tone suddenly became serious.

“Brooke, getting this job is only the beginning,” Bethany said.

Brooke looked confused. “What do you mean?”

Bethany looked around before continuing.

“While you’re working here, you need to keep your eyes open. Watch everything that happens in this office. If you notice anything unusual, tell me immediately.”

Brooke nodded, but she was still confused by Bethany’s instructions.

Bethany continued, “I want you to keep me updated about everything important. Don’t ignore even the smallest detail. I want you to give me a report every minute.”

Brooke realized that Bethany wasn’t simply asking her to work. She wanted Brooke to observe what was happening around New Berger’s office.

“Okay,” Brooke replied. “I’ll keep an eye on everything and let you know if something happens.”

5. The Suspicious Visitor

Brooke started her first day at the office with excitement, but she could not forget Bethany’s warning. She carefully watched everything around her while trying to learn her new responsibilities.

At first, everything seemed normal. New Berger was busy with his work, and the office staff continued with their daily routine.

Then suddenly, Brooke noticed someone entering New Berger’s office.

The person looked around carefully before entering and quietly closing the door behind them.

Brooke immediately became suspicious. She remembered Bethany’s instructions and reached for her phone.

But before Brooke could send Bethany a message, she heard a shocking sentence coming from inside New Berger’s office.

Brooke froze.
