The Unexpected Arrival
The house is quiet when the doorbell suddenly rings. D’Nisha walks toward the front door and opens it. Angelina is standing outside, looking serious and determined.
D’NISHA:
Can I help you?
ANGELINA:
Where is Anthony? Tell him I need to talk to him.
Anthony Isn’t Home
D’Nisha calmly tells Angelina that Anthony is not at home. Angelina insists that she needs to speak with him immediately.
D’NISHA:
Anthony isn’t here. You can talk to him when he gets back.
Angelina refuses to leave without making her point clear.
ANGELINA:
I came here because I need to talk to him about Shayla.
Anthony’s Warning
D’Nisha tells Angelina that Anthony had already given her instructions about what to do if Shayla’s mother came to the house.
D’NISHA:
Anthony told me that if Shayla’s mom came here, I was supposed to send her back.
Angelina looks offended by Anthony’s decision.
ANGELINA:
He said that?
The Money Argument
Angelina finally reveals why she came to Anthony’s house. She is upset because Anthony refused to give Shayla money for Kai’s party.
ANGELINA:
Anthony refused to give Shayla money for Kai’s party, but somehow he always has money when it comes to you.
D’Nisha’s expression immediately changes.
D’NISHA:
Excuse me?
D’Nisha Gets Angry
The tension between the two women rises. Angelina continues questioning Anthony’s decisions, while D’Nisha becomes increasingly frustrated.
ANGELINA:
Shayla shouldn’t have to beg Anthony for money when he has no problem spending it elsewhere.
D’Nisha steps closer to the doorway.
D’NISHA:
You’re standing in my house and telling me what I should do?
The Argument Escalates
Angelina refuses to back down. D’Nisha makes it clear that she will not allow anyone to come into her home and disrespect her.
D’NISHA:
You don’t know anything about what happens between me and Anthony.
ANGELINA:
And you don’t know everything that happens between Anthony and Shayla!
The two women stare at each other in silence.
D’Nisha Sends Her Away
D’Nisha finally reaches her limit. She points toward the driveway and tells Angelina that she needs to leave.
D’NISHA:
You need to go. I won’t let anyone come into my home and disrespect me.
Angelina turns around and walks away, but she stops for a moment and looks back.
ANGELINA:
This conversation isn’t over.
D’Nisha watches Angelina leave before slowly closing the door.
The house becomes quiet again, but the tension remains. Angelina came looking for answers about Shayla, but her confrontation with D’Nisha has created an even bigger problem.
