Shayla never expected that her mother’s words would send her straight to Anthony’s house.

SCENE 1 — SHAYLA’S MOTHER’S HOUSE
The house is quiet as Shayla sits on the couch scrolling through her phone.
SHAYLA’S MOM: Shayla, I need to tell you something.
SHAYLA: What happened?
SHAYLA’S MOM: D’Nisha and Anthony were just at your place.

SHAYLA: Anthony? What were they doing there?

D’Nisha stands outside Anthony’s house, looking toward the front door.

D’Nisha tries to move away as the car comes closer.

The car strikes D’Nisha, and she falls to the ground.
SCENE 7 — ANTHONY RUNS OUT
Anthony rushes outside after hearing the crash.
ANTHONY: D’Nisha! What happened?
D’NISHA: She hit me.
Anthony looks toward Shayla, shocked and furious.

Sirens echo through the neighborhood as paramedics arrive.

OFFICER: Were you driving this vehicle?

Shayla looks at D’Nisha being taken toward the ambulance.
SHAYLA: I saw D’Nisha outside.
She pauses as tears roll down her face.

The ambulance leaves while Anthony remains standing outside his house.
ANTHONY: Why did you really come here?
SHAYLA: I thought something was going on between you two.
