SCENE 1 — SHAYLA’S HOUSE — DAY

The room is quiet. Shayla’s mother sits on the sofa, visibly upset. Her eyes are filled with anger and hurt.

Shayla notices her mother’s expression and immediately becomes concerned.

SHAYLA

“Mom, what happened? Why are you so upset?”

Her mother takes a deep breath before answering.

SHAYLA’S MOM

“Anthony threw me out of his house. He was furious, and he didn’t even let me explain myself.”

Shayla’s expression suddenly changes. Her concern turns into anger.

SHAYLA

“He threw you out?”

SHAYLA’S MOM

“Yes. I tried to talk to him, but he became angry and told me to leave.”

Shayla stands up. Her fists tighten.

SHAYLA

“He had no right to treat you like that.”

She grabs her bag and heads toward the door.

SHAYLA’S MOM

“Shayla, where are you going?”

SHAYLA

“I’m going to talk to Anthony.”

She walks out.

SCENE 2 — OUTSIDE ANTHONY’S HOUSE — DAY

Shayla arrives at Anthony’s house. She walks toward the entrance with determination. Her anger grows with every step.

The front door opens. Anthony steps outside and notices Shayla standing there.

For a moment, neither of them speaks.

ANTHONY

“Shayla? What are you doing here?”

Shayla immediately steps forward.

SHAYLA

“I came here because of my mom.”

Anthony remains silent.

SHAYLA

“How could you treat her like that?”

SHAYLA

“She came to your house to talk to you, and you threw her out?”

Anthony takes a slow breath. He tries to remain calm.

ANTHONY

“You don’t know the whole story.”

SHAYLA

“I know enough.”

She steps closer.

SHAYLA

“You should be ashamed of yourself. My mom deserved respect, not this kind of treatment.”

Anthony’s jaw tightens. He says nothing.

SHAYLA

“You always think you can do whatever you want. You hurt people and then act like you’ve done nothing wrong.”

SCENE 3 — THE CONFRONTATION

The tension between them becomes heavier. Shayla refuses to back down.

SHAYLA

“My mom trusted you, and this is how you treated her?”

Anthony finally looks directly at Shayla. His expression is tense.

ANTHONY

“Shayla, stop.”

His voice is low and controlled.

SHAYLA

“No. I’m not going to stop.”

She points toward Anthony.

SHAYLA

“You owe my mom an apology.”

Anthony remains silent. His hands slowly tighten as he tries to control his anger.

ANTHONY

“You have no idea what happened between your mother and me.”

SHAYLA

“I know what she told me, and I believe her.”

SHAYLA

“And after everything you’ve done, you still have the nerve to stand there like you’re innocent.”

Anthony looks away, desperately trying to calm himself.

SCENE 4 — ANTHONY LOSES CONTROL

The argument reaches its breaking point.

SHAYLA

“You should have treated my mom with respect. Instead, you humiliated her and threw her out like she meant nothing.”

Anthony’s face becomes filled with anger. He clenches his jaw.

ANTHONY

“Enough.”

Shayla stares at him.

SHAYLA

“No. You need to hear this.”

Anthony looks away, desperately trying to calm himself. But Shayla’s harsh words continue to push his patience.

SHAYLA

“You should be ashamed of the way you’ve treated my mom.”

Anthony suddenly loses control of his temper and strikes Shayla. Shayla freezes in shock, stunned by what has just happened.

Anthony immediately realizes the seriousness of his action. His anger begins to fade, replaced by shock and regret.

SCENE 5 — SHOCK AND SILENCE

Shayla looks at Anthony with disbelief. Her eyes fill with tears.

SHAYLA

“You actually hit me because you couldn’t control your anger?”

Anthony remains silent. He looks shaken by his own actions.

ANTHONY

“Shayla…”

SHAYLA

“Don’t.”

Her voice trembles.

SHAYLA

“You proved exactly what I was saying.”

ANTHONY

“I lost my temper.”

SHAYLA

“That doesn’t excuse what you did.”

Anthony has no answer.

SCENE 6 — THE AFTERMATH

Shayla turns toward the gate and takes a few steps away from Anthony. Then she stops.

SHAYLA

“You should have listened instead of letting your anger control you.”

Anthony stands silently behind her.

ANTHONY

“I’m sorry.”

Shayla closes her eyes for a moment. She is hurt and disappointed.

SHAYLA

“An apology doesn’t erase what happened.”

She walks away.

Anthony remains standing outside his house. The silence around him feels heavier than before.

He looks down, realizing that his anger has created an even bigger problem.

Shayla disappears down the road. Anthony watches her leave.

For the first time, he understands that losing control for only a few seconds can change everything.
