Larry had finally reached his limit.
One more argument could make everything worse.
He knew Brooke was becoming increasingly frustrated.
So Larry decided that something had to change.
Larry:
“I know things have been tense lately.”
Brooke:
“It’s getting exhausting, Larry.”
Larry quietly walked into Brooke’s room.
He could see that she was emotionally exhausted.
Instead of another argument, he offered her an escape.
His plan was simple — Chicago for a few days.
Larry:
“That’s why I came in here.”
Brooke:
“Why?”
Larry:
“Because I think we need to get out of here for a few days.”
Larry:
“I’m taking you to Chicago.”
Brooke’s tired expression immediately changed.
For the first time in days, she looked genuinely happy.
The idea of visiting Destiny made the trip even better.
She knew she desperately needed time away.
Brooke:
“Chicago?”
Larry:
“Yeah.”
Brooke:
“You’re serious?”
Larry:
“I’m serious.”
But Larry suddenly became serious.
There was one important condition.
Bethany couldn’t know about the trip yet.
Larry feared she would insist on coming with them.
Larry:
“There’s just one thing.”
Brooke:
“What?”
Larry:
“Bethany can’t know yet.”
Brooke:
“So you want to keep it between us?”
Larry:
“For now.”
Brooke quietly started packing her suitcase.
She picked out clothes and checked her phone.
Destiny was waiting for them in Chicago.
But Larry knew they had to be extremely careful.
Brooke:
“This is actually happening.”
Meanwhile, Larry checked the travel details downstairs.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps.
Bethany appeared in the hallway.
Bethany:
“Larry?”
Larry:
“Yeah?”
Bethany:
“What are you doing?”
Larry tried to stay calm.
Bethany carefully studied his expression.
Then her eyes moved toward the stairs.
Something about Larry’s behavior didn’t feel right.
Bethany:
“What things?”
Larry:
“Nothing important.”
Bethany continued staring at him.
Larry waited until she finally walked away.
Larry:
“We’ve got to be careful.”
The next morning, Brooke came downstairs with her bag.
Larry was ready, and they were almost ready to leave.
Then Brooke suddenly heard footsteps upstairs.
Bethany appeared and noticed the suitcase.
Brooke:
“Did you hear that?”
Larry:
“Go back to your room.”
Brooke quickly moved away.
Bethany slowly walked down the stairs.
Bethany:
“Where are you two going?”
Larry didn’t answer immediately.
Bethany’s eyes moved toward Brooke’s suitcase.
Bethany:
“Wait… You’re not leaving without telling me, are you?”
Larry exchanged a nervous glance with Brooke.
The secret was finally out.
But Bethany still didn’t know where they were going…
And Larry’s next answer could change everything.
