The Truth About Dre
One name at the front desk made Sharra freeze — and Larry knew something she hadn’t told him.

Scene 1 — Police Station — Day

The police station is quiet but tense. Larry and Sharra walk through the entrance together. Sharra looks nervous. Her eyes constantly move around the room as she prepares to see her mother. Larry notices her anxiety and gently stays beside her.

They approach the front desk, where a police officer is reviewing some paperwork.

LARRY: Officer, we came to see Sharra’s mom. But there’s something I need to know. Who made the call that brought her here?

The officer looks up from his paperwork.

POLICE OFFICER: A man called us. His name was Dre.

Sharra suddenly freezes. Her expression changes instantly. The name hits her like a shock.

SHARRA: Dre?

Larry looks at Sharra. He immediately notices the fear in her eyes.

LARRY: You know someone named Dre?

Sharra hesitates. She looks away. Larry’s suspicion begins to grow.

POLICE OFFICER: That’s all the information I have. He was the one who contacted us.

Larry slowly nods. But his mind is already racing.

Scene 2 — Outside the Police Station — Day

Larry and Sharra walk outside. Sharra remains unusually quiet. Larry stops and turns toward her.

LARRY: Sharra, I need you to be honest with me. Was Dre your ex-boyfriend?

Sharra immediately shakes her head.

SHARRA: No.

Larry studies her face.

LARRY: Are you sure?

SHARRA: Yes, Larry. I told you, Dre has nothing to do with me.

Larry takes a breath. He wants to believe her. But something doesn’t feel right.

LARRY: Because if the guy who called the police is the same Dre you used to know, then we need to figure this out.

Sharra looks uncomfortable.

SHARRA: Larry, please. He’s not part of my life anymore.

Larry remains silent. His suspicion doesn’t disappear. Instead, it becomes stronger.

Scene 3 — Larry’s Suspicion — Evening

Larry sits alone in his car. He thinks about everything that happened. The phone call. The name Dre. Sharra’s reaction. Her sudden denial. Larry grips the steering wheel.

LARRY: Something isn’t adding up.

He remembers Sharra’s expression when the officer mentioned Dre. It wasn’t the expression of someone hearing a stranger’s name. It was the expression of someone who recognized a dangerous secret.

LARRY: If that really was her Dre… then why is he still around?

Larry starts the car. He decides to find the truth himself.

Scene 4 — Sharra’s House — Night

Larry arrives at Sharra’s house. He steps out of the car and walks toward the front door. Before he can knock, he notices movement inside. Larry looks through the window. His eyes widen. Dre is standing inside the house. Larry’s suspicion suddenly becomes reality.

LARRY: Dre…

Larry quickly enters the house. Dre turns around. The moment their eyes meet, the atmosphere becomes explosive.

LARRY: So it really is you.

Dre looks nervous.

DRE: Larry, wait—

Larry grabs Dre by the shirt.

LARRY: You called the police, didn’t you?

Dre tries to pull away.

DRE: Listen to me!

Larry pushes him backward.

LARRY: Why did you do this to Sharra’s mom? Why did you make that call?

Dre struggles to respond.

Scene 5 — The Confrontation — Continuous

Larry’s anger continues to rise.

LARRY: I know everything now! You thought nobody would find out what you were doing?

Dre looks toward Sharra. She is standing nearby, completely stunned.

LARRY: Sharra and I have seen enough. We know what kind of person you really are.

Dre tries to defend himself.

DRE: You don’t know the whole story!

LARRY: Then tell me! Why did you call? Why did you drag Sharra’s mom into this?

Dre remains silent. That silence says more than any explanation could. Sharra’s eyes begin filling with tears. She slowly realizes that Larry’s suspicions were not completely wrong.

Scene 6 — Sharra’s Heartbreak — Continuous

Sharra looks at Dre. Memories of their past suddenly rush through her mind. The person she once trusted now looks completely different.

SHARRA: Dre… why?

Dre looks at her.

DRE: Sharra, I can explain.

Sharra shakes her head.

SHARRA: No. I don’t want another lie.

Her voice breaks.

SHARRA: I thought I knew you.

Dre takes a step toward her.

DRE: Sharra, please listen to me.

She steps backward. Tears roll down her cheeks.

SHARRA: I trusted you. And you betrayed everyone.

Larry looks at Sharra. His anger turns into concern.

Scene 7 — Larry vs. Dre — Night

Dre suddenly becomes defensive.

DRE: You have no right to judge me!

Larry steps forward.

LARRY: After everything you’ve done? You don’t get to talk about rights.

Dre pushes Larry. Larry immediately pushes him back. The argument turns into a physical fight. They struggle across the room. A chair falls to the floor.

Sharra screams.

SHARRA: Larry! Stop!

But neither man backs down. Larry grabs Dre and forces him away.

LARRY: Tell me the truth! Why did you call the police?

Dre refuses to answer.

LARRY: You owe Sharra the truth!

Dre finally looks toward Sharra. His expression changes. But the damage is already done.

Scene 8 — The Truth Hurts — Later

The fight finally stops. Larry stands breathing heavily. Dre remains on the other side of the room. Sharra stands between them, crying. She looks at Dre one last time.

SHARRA: I spent so much time believing you were someone you weren’t.

Dre lowers his eyes. Sharra wipes away her tears.

SHARRA: Now I finally understand. You weren’t the person I remembered. You were the person I refused to see.

Larry moves closer to Sharra. She looks at him with tears in her eyes.

SHARRA: I’m sorry, Larry. I should have told you everything.

Larry gently shakes his head.

LARRY: You don’t have to apologize for his choices.

Sharra looks back at Dre. Her heart is completely broken.

Scene 9 — A Painful Realization — Night

The room becomes silent. Dre realizes that he has lost Sharra’s trust forever. Sharra turns away from him.

SHARRA: I don’t want you in my life anymore.

Dre doesn’t respond. Larry stands beside Sharra, making sure she isn’t alone. Sharra takes a deep breath. She finally understands that the person she once loved was capable of betrayal. Her tears continue falling. But this time, she isn’t crying because she wants Dre back. She’s crying because she finally knows the truth.

Larry looks at Dre with disappointment.

LARRY: You had every chance to tell the truth. You chose to lie.

Dre looks down. There is nothing left for him to say. Larry gently places a hand on Sharra’s shoulder. Together, they walk away. Sharra takes one final look back at Dre. Her expression is filled with heartbreak, regret, and disappointment. Then she turns away. The door closes behind her. Dre is left standing alone.

FADE OUT.
