Peace Week: The Silent Storm
Larry’s First Assignment • A Story of Unexpected Silence
The morning started quietly inside the house… but nobody knew that Larry’s first Peace Week assignment was about to turn the entire atmosphere upside down. 😳🏠
LARRY had already prepared the first assignment and walked into the room holding a sheet of paper in his hand. He looked serious, almost like he knew exactly how everyone was going to react. 📋✒️
LARRY:
“Alright, everyone… it’s time for the first Peace Week assignment.”
BROOKE immediately looked curious. 👀
BROOKE:
“What’s the assignment?”
Larry looked at her and then turned toward BETHANY, handing her the paper.
LARRY:
“Bethany, this one is for you.”
Bethany looked down at the paper without saying anything. She read the assignment for a few seconds… then slowly shook her head. 😒
BETHANY:
“No. I’m not doing this.”
The room suddenly went quiet. 😳
Brooke looked at Bethany, surprised by how quickly she had refused.
BROOKE:
“Wait… you’re not even going to try?”
Bethany put the paper down.
BETHANY:
“I said I’m not doing it.”
Larry stared at her for a moment, clearly trying to control his frustration. He had expected some resistance, but Bethany refusing before even starting was the last thing he wanted. 😤
LARRY:
“Bethany, this is supposed to be Peace Week. The whole point is for everyone to participate.”
BETHANY:
“I don’t care. I’m not doing it.”
That answer immediately changed Larry’s mood.
His expression became serious, and the patience he had been trying to maintain began to disappear. 🔥
LARRY:
“Okay… then let me make something very clear.”
Bethany looked at him.
Larry stepped forward and spoke firmly.
LARRY:
“This is MY HOUSE. And while you’re here, my rules are going to be respected.”
Bethany didn’t respond.
Larry continued.
LARRY:
“I’m trying to make this week peaceful for everybody, but I’m not going to sit here and argue about every single thing.”
He pointed toward the room.
LARRY:
“If anybody has a problem with how I’m running things in my house… they can leave.”
😳😳😳
The room became completely silent.
Brooke’s eyes widened.
She looked at Larry… then at Bethany.
Normally, this would have been the exact moment Bethany would have fired back. She would have had something to say. She would have challenged Larry, questioned him, or started another argument.
But this time…
Nothing.
Bethany simply stood there.
Silent.
Completely silent. 👀
Larry waited for her response.
Nothing.
Brooke waited too.
Still nothing.
And somehow, Bethany’s silence was more unsettling than an argument.
BROOKE:
“Bethany…?”
Bethany slowly looked at Brooke but didn’t say a word.
Larry folded his arms.
He was expecting an explosion.
Instead, he got silence.
And that silence started bothering him. 😳
LARRY’S THOUGHTS:
Why isn’t she saying anything?
Brooke was thinking the exact same thing.
For years, Bethany had been known for speaking her mind. If she disagreed with something, everyone knew about it. If she was angry, she made it obvious.
But today?
She wasn’t fighting.
She wasn’t yelling.
She wasn’t arguing.
She wasn’t even defending herself.
She was simply standing there with a calm expression on her face.
And that was what made everyone nervous. 👀
BROOKE:
“This is weird…”
Larry glanced at Brooke.
LARRY:
“What?”
BROOKE:
“Bethany usually would’ve said something by now.”
Larry looked back at Bethany.
She remained quiet.
LARRY:
“Yeah… I noticed.”
Bethany finally picked up the assignment paper and looked at it again.
But there was something different in her expression now.
She wasn’t looking defeated.
She wasn’t looking scared.
She looked… thoughtful. 🤔
As everyone continued talking, Bethany quietly walked away from the conversation.
She went into another room and closed the door behind her.
For the first time that morning, her expression changed.
The calm face disappeared.
Bethany sat down and looked at the assignment paper in her hands.
Then she smiled slightly.
Not a happy smile.
A mysterious one. 😏
BETHANY’S THOUGHTS:
They think I’m staying quiet because I have nothing to say.
She looked toward the door.
BETHANY’S THOUGHTS:
Let them think that.
She slowly folded the assignment paper.
BETHANY’S THOUGHTS:
Maybe arguing isn’t the answer this time.
Bethany leaned back and started thinking.
If Larry wanted Peace Week…
Maybe she could give him exactly what he asked for.
But perhaps there was another way to play the game.
A way that nobody in the house was expecting. 👀🔥
Meanwhile, in the living room, Brooke was still confused.
BROOKE:
“Larry, I don’t know… something feels different.”
LARRY:
“What do you mean?”
BROOKE:
“She didn’t argue with you.”
Larry nodded slowly.
LARRY:
“That’s exactly what’s bothering me.”
Brooke looked toward the hallway where Bethany had disappeared.
BROOKE:
“Do you think she’s planning something?”
Larry didn’t answer immediately.
He stared toward the hallway.
For a moment, neither of them said anything.
Then Larry quietly replied:
LARRY:
“I honestly don’t know.”
👀🔥
And behind that closed door…
Bethany was already thinking about her next move.
Because maybe she wasn’t giving up.
Maybe she wasn’t accepting defeat.
Maybe she was simply waiting for the right moment.
And if Bethany really was planning something…
Larry and Brooke had absolutely no idea what was coming next. 😳🔥
