BROOKE’S NEW CAR RIDE ENDS IN A SHOCKING ACCIDENT

INT. BROOKE’S BEDROOM – LATE AFTERNOON

Golden sunlight shines through the bedroom window.

BROOKE stands in front of the mirror, getting ready.

She looks excited.

On the bed beside her is her phone.

She picks it up and checks her messages.

A message from ISAIAH is on the screen.

Brooke smiles.

She quickly types a reply.

BROOKE

I’m coming to see you.

Brooke puts her phone in her purse.

She grabs her car keys.

Before leaving, she looks at herself in the mirror.

A proud smile appears on her face.

Today is different.

Today, she finally gets to show Isaiah her new car.

BROOKE

He’s going to love it.

Brooke walks out of the room.

EXT. BROOKE’S HOUSE – MOMENTS LATER

Brooke steps outside.

Her brand-new car is parked in the driveway.

The vehicle shines under the afternoon sunlight.

Brooke walks toward it with excitement.

She runs her hand across the hood.

BROOKE

I still can’t believe this is mine.

She opens the driver’s door and gets inside.

The engine starts.

Brooke adjusts the mirror and takes a deep breath.

She grabs her phone and sends Isaiah another message.

BROOKE

I’m on my way.

She puts the phone down.

The car slowly leaves the driveway.

INT. BROOKE’S CAR – CONTINUOUS

Music plays softly through the speakers.

Brooke drives down the road.

She looks happy.

She keeps thinking about Isaiah’s reaction.

She imagines him standing beside the car, amazed.

Brooke laughs to herself.

BROOKE

He’s definitely going to be jealous.

She continues driving.

Traffic moves normally around her.

Brooke glances at the clock on the dashboard.

Then she looks back at the road.

Everything seems peaceful.

For a moment, nothing feels wrong.

EXT. CITY ROAD – LATER

Brooke continues driving through the busy streets.

Cars move in different directions.

Pedestrians cross at the intersection.

Brooke slows down as traffic becomes heavier.

Her phone suddenly vibrates inside her purse.

Brooke hears it.

She glances toward the passenger seat.

She knows it could be Isaiah.

Her hand almost reaches for the phone.

Then she stops herself.

BROOKE

No.

She keeps both hands on the steering wheel.

BROOKE

I’ll check it when I stop.

She continues forward.

The traffic light ahead turns green.

Brooke moves through the intersection.

Suddenly, another vehicle changes lanes unexpectedly.

Brooke reacts immediately.

She turns the steering wheel.

The car moves sharply.

Brooke’s eyes widen.

BROOKE

Oh my God!

She tries to regain control.

The tires slide slightly.

Brooke grips the steering wheel tightly.

BROOKE

Come on… come on!

The car veers toward the side of the road.

Brooke presses the brake.

A LOUD CRASH FOLLOWS.

The car comes to a sudden stop.

Silence fills the vehicle.

Brooke sits frozen behind the wheel.

Her breathing is heavy.

She looks around, shocked.

The airbags have deployed.

Brooke is clearly shaken.

She slowly moves her hands.

She checks herself.

Then she reaches for her phone.

Her hands tremble.

BROOKE

I’m okay…

She takes another breath.

BROOKE

I’m okay.

Outside, people begin gathering around the vehicle.

WOMAN

Are you alright?

Brooke looks toward her.

BROOKE

I… I think so.

The woman quickly calls for help.

Brooke looks at the damaged front of her new car.

Her excitement disappears.

She stares at it in disbelief.

BROOKE

My car…

She closes her eyes.

The realization begins to sink in.

She was only minutes away from seeing Isaiah.

EXT. CITY ROAD – MINUTES LATER

Emergency responders arrive.

People stand nearby watching.

Brooke carefully steps out of the vehicle.

She remains shaken but conscious.

RESPONDER

Are you hurt anywhere?

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE

No. I’m just scared.

The responder nods reassuringly.

RESPONDER

Stay calm. We’re going to make sure you’re okay.

Brooke sits on the side of the road.

She looks down at her phone.

Several missed calls appear.

One of them is from Isaiah.

Brooke stares at his name.

Her eyes fill with worry.

She calls him.

INT. ISAIAH’S ROOM – SAME TIME

ISAIAH sits on his bed.

His phone rings.

He looks at the screen.

BROOKE.

He answers immediately.

ISAIAH

Hey, Brooke. Where are you?

Brooke struggles to find the words.

BROOKE

Isaiah…

There is silence.

Isaiah immediately notices something is wrong.

ISAIAH

What’s wrong?

Brooke looks toward the damaged car.

BROOKE

I got into an accident.

Isaiah’s expression changes.

He stands up.

ISAIAH

What?

BROOKE

I’m okay.

She quickly adds it before he can panic.

BROOKE

I’m shaken, but I’m okay.

Isaiah grabs his jacket.

ISAIAH

Where are you?

Brooke gives him the location.

Isaiah rushes toward the door.

ISAIAH

Stay there. I’m coming.

The call ends.

EXT. CITY ROAD – LATER

Brooke sits quietly while the responders finish checking the scene.

Her new car is being moved away from the road.

She watches it disappear.

A few moments later, Isaiah’s car pulls up nearby.

Isaiah jumps out.

He looks around frantically.

Then he sees Brooke.

He rushes toward her.

ISAIAH

Brooke!

Brooke stands.

Isaiah stops in front of her.

He looks her over carefully.

ISAIAH

Are you really okay?

Brooke nods.

BROOKE

Yes.

Isaiah exhales with relief.

ISAIAH

You scared me.

Brooke looks down.

BROOKE

I was coming to show you my new car.

Isaiah looks toward the damaged vehicle.

His expression becomes serious.

ISAIAH

Forget the car.

He looks back at Brooke.

ISAIAH

I’m just glad you’re okay.

Brooke gives a small emotional smile.

BROOKE

I really thought today was going to be perfect.

Isaiah gently shakes his head.

ISAIAH

Cars can be replaced.

Brooke looks at him.

ISAIAH

You can’t.

Brooke becomes quiet.

For the first time since the accident, she feels a little calmer.

She looks toward her damaged car one last time.

Then she turns back toward Isaiah.

BROOKE

I guess showing you my new car didn’t go exactly as planned.

Isaiah gives a faint smile.

ISAIAH

We’ll worry about that later.

He stays beside her as the emergency vehicles continue working in the background.

Brooke takes a deep breath.

The excitement she felt earlier is gone.

But one thing matters more than the new car.

She is alive.

And she isn’t facing the aftermath alone.

FADE OUT.
