THE UNEXPECTED CONFRONTATION

SCENE 1 — HOPE AND FAITH’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — AFTERNOON

The afternoon is calm.

Soft daylight comes through the windows. HOPE and FAITH sit together in the living room, talking quietly.

A few moments later, the front door opens.

ISAIAH walks inside with MARIA beside him.

Maria looks slightly nervous, while Isaiah appears calm and confident.

Hope and Faith look toward them.

Hope immediately notices that Isaiah has brought Maria with him.

A brief silence fills the room.

HOPE

Isaiah, you came here with Maria?

Isaiah nods.

He gestures toward Maria.

ISAIAH

Yeah. I wanted you both to meet her.

Maria gives a polite smile.

MARIA

Hi, Hope. Hi, Faith. It’s nice to finally meet you both.

Faith smiles warmly.

FAITH

Hi, Maria. Nice to meet you too.

Maria sits down.

Isaiah remains standing for a moment before taking a seat nearby.

The atmosphere slowly becomes more comfortable.

SCENE 2 — THE CONVERSATION

Hope looks between Isaiah and Maria.

She can tell there is something Isaiah wants to explain.

HOPE

So, Isaiah, what brings you here today?

Isaiah takes a breath.

ISAIAH

I just wanted everyone to talk and clear things up.

Faith nods.

FAITH

That sounds like a good idea.

Maria looks at Isaiah.

MARIA

I told Isaiah that I didn’t want any problems. I just wanted everyone to understand each other.

Hope gives her a reassuring look.

HOPE

Nobody wants problems.

Isaiah smiles slightly.

The four continue talking.

Their conversation becomes more relaxed.

Maria begins telling Hope and Faith about herself.

Everyone listens.

For a moment, everything seems peaceful.

But outside the room, footsteps approach.

The front door opens again.

Brooke walks inside.

She stops immediately.

Her eyes move toward Isaiah.

Then she notices Maria sitting beside him.

Brooke’s expression changes.

Her face becomes tense.

SCENE 3 — BROOKE ARRIVES

Brooke slowly walks into the living room.

Everyone turns toward her.

Isaiah looks surprised.

ISAIAH

Brooke?

Brooke doesn’t answer immediately.

She looks at Maria.

Then she looks back at Isaiah.

Her anger is obvious.

BROOKE

What is she doing here?

Maria looks uncomfortable.

Hope stands up.

HOPE

Brooke, calm down. We’re just talking.

Brooke shakes her head.

BROOKE

Talking?

She points toward Isaiah.

BROOKE

You brought Maria here without telling me?

Isaiah stands up.

He tries to remain calm.

ISAIAH

Brooke, listen to me. Nothing is happening. We are just having a conversation.

Brooke takes a step closer.

BROOKE

Then why didn’t you tell me?

Isaiah sighs.

ISAIAH

Because I didn’t think it needed to become a problem.

Brooke’s anger grows.

Faith steps forward carefully.

FAITH

Brooke, please. Let’s talk about this calmly.

Brooke looks at Faith but remains focused on Isaiah.

SCENE 4 — THE CONFRONTATION

Isaiah tries to explain.

ISAIAH

Brooke, Maria is here because I wanted everyone to talk. That’s all.

Brooke stares at him.

BROOKE

You expect me to believe that?

Maria slowly stands.

MARIA

Brooke, I didn’t come here to cause trouble.

Brooke looks at Maria.

BROOKE

Then why are you here?

Maria remains calm.

MARIA

Isaiah asked me to come. I agreed because I thought we could talk peacefully.

Hope moves between them slightly.

HOPE

Everyone needs to calm down.

But Brooke is already overwhelmed with anger.

She turns toward Isaiah.

BROOKE

You should have told me before bringing her here.

Isaiah’s voice becomes firmer.

ISAIAH

Brooke, you can’t control who I talk to.

The room becomes completely silent.

Brooke looks shocked by his words.

BROOKE

What did you just say?

Isaiah realizes that his words have made the situation worse.

ISAIAH

I didn’t mean it like that.

Brooke steps closer.

BROOKE

No. You meant exactly what you said.

Faith looks worried.

Hope watches carefully.

Maria takes a small step backward.

SCENE 5 — THE SLAP

Isaiah tries to speak again.

ISAIAH

Brooke, please listen—

Before he can finish, Brooke raises her hand.

She slaps Isaiah across the face.

The sound echoes through the room.

Everyone freezes.

Isaiah stands completely still, shocked.

Maria covers her mouth.

Hope’s eyes widen.

Faith immediately steps forward.

FAITH

Brooke!

Brooke breathes heavily.

Her anger is mixed with hurt.

BROOKE

I trusted you, Isaiah!

Isaiah slowly looks back at her.

ISAIAH

Brooke…

He touches his cheek.

He looks hurt and confused.

Hope moves closer to Brooke.

HOPE

That wasn’t okay.

Brooke looks at Hope.

BROOKE

I know I shouldn’t have done it.

Her voice becomes quieter.

BROOKE

But I was angry.

Faith looks at Isaiah.

FAITH

Are you okay?

Isaiah nods slowly.

ISAIAH

Yeah.

Maria looks at Brooke.

MARIA

I never wanted this to happen.

Brooke looks at Maria.

For a moment, nobody says anything.

SCENE 6 — EVERYONE WATCHES

The room remains tense.

Everyone is still processing what just happened.

Isaiah takes a deep breath.

ISAIAH

Brooke, I understand that you’re upset. But hitting me isn’t going to solve anything.

Brooke lowers her eyes.

Her anger begins to turn into regret.

BROOKE

I know.

She pauses.

BROOKE

I just felt like you were hiding something from me.

Isaiah shakes his head.

ISAIAH

I wasn’t hiding anything.

Hope looks at both of them.

HOPE

Then maybe this is the time to be honest with each other.

Faith nods.

FAITH

No shouting. No fighting. Just talk.

Brooke looks at Isaiah.

Isaiah looks back at her.

The tension slowly begins to settle.

Maria quietly sits down again.

Everyone remains in the room.

Nobody knows what will happen next.

Brooke takes a deep breath.

BROOKE

Fine.

She looks directly at Isaiah.

BROOKE

Tell me the truth.

Isaiah nods.

ISAIAH

I will.

The camera slowly pulls back.

Hope, Faith, Maria, Isaiah, and Brooke remain together in the tense living room.

Everyone watches.

The confrontation may be over, but the questions between them are only beginning.
