LARRY’S SHOCKING BETRAYAL:
HE CHOOSES HIS FIRST WIFE OVER BETHANY
INT. LARRY AND BETHANY’S HOUSE — AFTERNOON
The afternoon sunlight enters through the large living-room windows. Bethany is sitting on the sofa, scrolling through her phone. Everything seems peaceful until she hears the front door opening.
Larry walks inside with Lentina, his first wife. Bethany immediately looks up. She is surprised to see Lentina standing beside her husband.
BETHANY:Larry, who is this? Why have you brought her here again?
LARRY:Bethany, this is Lentina. You already know who she is.
BETHANY:Of course I know her. But why is she here? I thought everything between you two was over.
LENTINA:Bethany, you don’t need to worry about why I’m here. I have come back because Larry and I have unfinished business.
BETHANY:Unfinished business? What exactly are you talking about?
LENTINA:You’ll understand soon enough.
Larry remains silent. Bethany begins to sense that something serious is happening.
INT. LIVING ROOM — CONTINUOUS
Lentina turns toward Larry and gently holds his arm. She looks at him as though she has already made an important decision.
LENTINA:Larry, from now on, I’m going to stay with you. Is that clear?
Bethany freezes. She cannot believe what she has just heard.
BETHANY:Excuse me? What did you just say?
LENTINA:I said I’m staying here with Larry. I don’t want to live separately anymore.
BETHANY:What are you talking about? This is my house, and Larry is my husband! You cannot simply walk into my home and announce that you’re going to live here!
LENTINA:You seem to have forgotten something, Bethany. Larry was my husband before he was yours.
BETHANY:That doesn’t give you the right to come here and take over my life!
LENTINA:I’m not taking anything that Larry doesn’t want to give me.
BETHANY:Larry, tell her to stop! Why are you standing there silently?
Larry looks uncomfortable but does not defend Bethany.
INT. LIVING ROOM — AFTERNOON
Bethany walks toward Larry. Her expression shows disappointment and anger.
BETHANY:Larry, I want a clear answer. Is she really going to stay here?
LARRY:Bethany, please calm down. There’s no reason to make such a big scene.
BETHANY:A big scene? You’re bringing your first wife into our home, and you expect me to remain silent?
LENTINA:Larry doesn’t need your permission to make his own decisions.
BETHANY:I wasn’t talking to you! I’m asking my husband a question!
LENTINA:And I’m telling you that I am not leaving.
BETHANY:You promised me that we would build a future together. You told me I was important to you. Have you forgotten everything?
LARRY:Things have changed, Bethany.
Those three words leave Bethany speechless.
INT. LIVING ROOM — MOMENTS LATER
Lentina takes a step toward Larry. Larry moves closer to her and places an arm around her. Bethany watches them in disbelief.
BETHANY:Larry! What are you doing?
LARRY:I’m making my decision.
BETHANY:What decision?
LARRY:I’ve decided that Lentina will stay with me.
BETHANY:No, Larry! You cannot do this to me. We have a life together!
LENTINA:You should accept the truth, Bethany. Larry wants me here.
BETHANY:Stop pretending that you have won something! This is not a game!
LARRY:That’s enough, Bethany. I don’t want another argument.
Bethany looks at his hand around Lentina. For the first time, she realizes that Larry is openly choosing someone else in front of her.
INT. LIVING ROOM — AFTERNOON
Bethany slowly sits down on the sofa. Her eyes fill with tears. Larry remains standing beside Lentina.
BETHANY:Larry, do you remember all the promises you made to me?
Larry doesn’t answer.
BETHANY:You told me that I would always have a special place in your life. You said we would face every problem together. Was everything you told me a lie?
LARRY:I don’t want to discuss the past.
BETHANY:The past? Our relationship is not just the past! I’m still here, Larry!
LENTINA:Larry, we don’t have to listen to this all afternoon. Let’s go somewhere else.
LARRY:You’re right.
BETHANY:Wait! Don’t walk away while I’m talking to you!
Larry stops for a moment but refuses to turn around.
INT. HOUSE HALLWAY — AFTERNOON
Lentina walks toward the hallway with Larry. She looks around the house as though she is already making plans.
LENTINA:Larry, I want us to spend time together. I don’t want to feel like a visitor in your life anymore.
LARRY:You don’t have to worry about that. You’re staying with me now.
LENTINA:That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.
Bethany follows them.
BETHANY:Lentina, listen carefully. You cannot come into this house and behave as though I don’t exist.
LENTINA:Then perhaps you should ask Larry why he wants me here.
BETHANY:Larry, please say something!
LARRY:Bethany, I have already made my decision. Stop trying to change it.
INT. LIVING ROOM — EVENING
The atmosphere becomes increasingly tense. Larry asks Lentina to sit beside him. Bethany stands a few steps away. Larry looks at Bethany with a cold expression.
LARRY:Bethany, I think it’s time you understood something.
BETHANY:What else do you want to tell me?
LARRY:You are no longer useful to me.
Bethany stares at him. She cannot believe he has spoken those words.
BETHANY:What did you just say?
LARRY:My first wife has returned, and I want to be with her now. I don’t need you anymore.
BETHANY:So that’s it? The moment Lentina returned, everything between us became meaningless?
LARRY:I don’t want to continue this relationship the way it was before.
BETHANY:You could have told me the truth instead of humiliating me in my own home!
LARRY:Lentina understands me. That’s what matters now.
Bethany lowers her head.
INT. LIVING ROOM — EVENING
Bethany turns toward Lentina. Her voice is emotional but firm.
BETHANY:Are you happy now? You came here, and Larry immediately forgot everything we shared.
LENTINA:I didn’t force Larry to choose me. He made that decision himself.
BETHANY:You knew exactly what you were doing when you came here.
LENTINA:I came back because I wanted another chance with my husband.
BETHANY:And you didn’t care how much pain this would cause me?
LENTINA:Bethany, I am not responsible for Larry’s feelings.
BETHANY:And you? Are you going to let her speak to me like this?
LARRY:She’s right. You need to stop blaming her.
Bethany takes a step backward. She realizes that neither of them intends to listen to her.
INT. LIVING ROOM — NIGHT
The house is quiet. Larry picks up his phone and checks a message. Lentina sits beside him. Bethany stands near the staircase, watching them.
LENTINA:Larry, can we spend some time together tomorrow? I want to talk about our future.
LARRY:Of course. We’ll make plans together.
BETHANY:What about me? Have you even thought about what happens to me?
LARRY:Bethany, you need to start thinking about your own future.
BETHANY:My future? I thought you were part of my future!
LARRY:Things are different now.
BETHANY:You keep saying that, but you haven’t even given me a proper explanation!
LARRY:I have nothing more to explain.
He takes Lentina’s hand. Bethany watches as they walk toward the hallway together.
INT. LIVING ROOM — LATE NIGHT
The living room becomes completely silent. Bethany sits alone on the sofa. She looks at the empty space where Larry had been sitting only a few minutes earlier.
Her phone lights up with an old photograph of her and Larry. She looks at it for a moment.
BETHANY:I never imagined that the person I trusted the most would treat me this way.
She places her phone on the table. Meanwhile, Larry and Lentina return to the living room. They are discussing their plans.
LENTINA:Larry, I’m glad you finally made your decision. I want us to start fresh.
LARRY:We’ll see what the future brings. I want peace now.
Bethany hears their conversation. She stands up and looks directly at Larry.
BETHANY:I hope one day you understand how deeply your decision has hurt me.
Larry remains silent. Lentina takes his hand. Bethany slowly walks toward the staircase.
