Brooke Learns the Truth About Isaiah
A STORY OF BETRAYAL, HEARTBREAK & CONSEQUENCES
The afternoon is quiet as Brooke sits in the living room, trying to focus on her own thoughts. She has already been dealing with pressure about her future, her career, and everything happening around her. Cameron walks into the room and notices that Brooke seems distracted.
“Brooke, Mariah wants to meet you. She said there’s something important she needs to talk to you about.”
Brooke looks up, slightly confused.
“Mariah wants to meet me? About what?”
“She didn’t really explain. She just said she needs to talk to you in person.”
Brooke thinks about it for a moment before nodding.
“Okay. I’ll meet her.”
Cameron leaves, while Brooke remains seated, wondering what could possibly be so important that Mariah needs to meet her privately.
She has no idea that the conversation ahead is about to completely change the way she sees Isaiah.
The next day, Brooke meets Mariah at a quiet place where they can sit down and talk without anyone interrupting them.
At first, everything seems completely normal. They talk casually about everyday things. Brooke smiles a few times, believing this might simply be a regular conversation between two people who need to clear something up.
But after a few minutes, Mariah’s expression becomes serious.
“Okay, you said you needed to talk to me about something. What’s going on?”
“I came here because there’s something I need to tell you.”
“Okay. Tell me.”
Mariah takes a deep breath before finally deciding to say everything.
“I went to Philly with Isaiah. We spent time together there. We slept together, we enjoyed ourselves, and… there’s something else you need to know.”
Brooke becomes visibly uncomfortable.
“Isaiah and I are in a relationship.”
For a few seconds, Brooke simply stares at her. She doesn’t know what to say. The words seem impossible to process.
“You’re joking, right?”
“No, Brooke. I’m not joking. I’m telling you the truth.”
Brooke looks away, trying to convince herself that there has to be some misunderstanding.
“No… That doesn’t make sense. Isaiah wouldn’t do that.”
Mariah remains quiet. Brooke’s expression slowly changes as the possibility begins to sink in.
“I’m calling him.”
Brooke calls Isaiah. The phone rings several times before he finally answers.
“Isaiah, I’m with Mariah right now. She just told me that you went to Philly together, that you were together there, and that you two are in a relationship. Is that true?”
Isaiah doesn’t answer. Brooke waits. Her eyes begin to fill with emotion.
“Isaiah, answer me.”
Still, he remains silent. The silence hurts Brooke more than anything he could have said.
“Please just tell me the truth. Is she telling me the truth?”
Finally, Isaiah speaks. His voice is quiet.
“I wanted to tell you.”
Brooke closes her eyes.
“Tell me what?”
“I wanted to tell you everything, but I didn’t have the courage.”
Brooke’s face falls. She already knows what his words mean.
“So it’s true?”
“Yes.”
Brooke’s eyes fill with tears. She slowly lowers the phone from her ear. Her heart is shattered.
Brooke leaves the meeting and returns home. The moment she walks through the door, she feels completely exhausted.
She sits down alone. Her mind keeps replaying Isaiah’s words: “I wanted to tell you, but I didn’t have the courage.”
“Why would he do this to me?”
She wipes away her tears, but more continue to fall. She remembers all the times she defended Isaiah, all the times she believed him, and all the plans she had imagined for their future.
Then another thought enters her mind. Bethany. Brooke remembers Bethany warning her.
“Bethany was right…”
She sits silently, staring at the floor.
“She told me not to trust him.”
The betrayal isn’t the only thing weighing on Brooke. For weeks, she has been worrying about her future, her job, her responsibilities, and her plans.
The pressure has been building inside her, and Isaiah’s betrayal makes everything feel even heavier.
Brooke walks around her room, unable to settle down. She looks at her phone but doesn’t call anyone. She puts it down and sits on the edge of the bed.
“I tried so hard.”
Her voice cracks.
“I tried to make everyone proud.”
She looks down at her hands, feeling as though she has disappointed everyone around her.
“But nothing ever seems to be enough.”
Brooke begins crying again. She feels overwhelmed by everything happening in her life.
After thinking for a long time, Brooke takes a piece of paper and begins writing. Her hands tremble as she puts her feelings into words.
She writes about how sorry she is. She writes that she couldn’t become the person everyone expected her to become. She writes about the future she wanted but couldn’t seem to build.
Finally, she writes about Isaiah and explains how deeply his betrayal has hurt her.
Brooke stops writing for a moment and looks at the letter. Tears fall onto the page.
“I really thought everything would work out.”
She folds the letter and sits quietly, overwhelmed by everything that has happened.
Later that night, Brooke reaches an extremely dangerous emotional breaking point. The situation quickly becomes an emergency, and someone realizes that something is seriously wrong.
Instead of focusing on the act itself, the scene centers on the consequences and the urgent need for help.
Help is called immediately as the people around Brooke realize how serious the situation has become.
The betrayal, the pressure about her future, and everything Brooke had been carrying inside have now become a crisis.
THE STORY CONTINUES…
As help arrives, the letter remains nearby—a painful reminder of how overwhelmed Brooke had become. The question now is whether Brooke will get the help she desperately needs and whether Isaiah will ever understand the consequences of his betrayal.
