DNisha’s Resignation
1. An Unexpected Decision
The podcast office was unusually quiet that afternoon. Wayne was sitting in his office, going through some documents, when the door slowly opened. DNisha stood there with tears in her eyes. She looked emotionally broken, as if she had been carrying a heavy burden for a long time.
In her trembling hand was a folded piece of paper.
Wayne immediately noticed that something was wrong.
“DNisha… what happened? Why are you crying?”
DNisha tried to control her emotions, but the tears continued to roll down her cheeks. Without saying anything, she walked toward Wayne and placed the paper on his desk.
Wayne picked it up and opened it. His eyes widened when he realized what it was.
“Your resignation?”
DNisha nodded slowly.
“Wayne… I can’t work at your podcast office anymore.”
Wayne looked at her in disbelief.
“But why? What happened? You were perfectly fine yesterday. Why are you suddenly resigning?”
DNisha lowered her eyes. She knew that what she was about to say could completely change Wayne’s relationship with someone he trusted.
2. Anthony’s Order
After a long silence, DNisha finally gathered the courage to speak.
“Anthony told me not to work with you anymore.”
Wayne froze.
“Anthony?”
DNisha nodded.
“Yes. He doesn’t want me to work in your office. He specifically told me that I should leave your podcast team.”
Wayne couldn’t understand what he was hearing. Anthony was his friend. At least, that was what Wayne had always believed.
“But Anthony is my friend. Why would he tell you to stop working with me? Did he give you a reason?”
DNisha wiped her tears and looked directly at Wayne.
“He doesn’t trust you, Wayne.”
Wayne’s expression became serious.
“What do you mean?”
DNisha took a deep breath.
“Anthony believes that you’re only using me for your own benefit. He told me that you don’t really care about me or my career. According to him, you’re only keeping me around because I’m useful to you.”
Wayne stared at her in shock.
“I can’t believe this… Anthony actually thinks that about me?”
3. DNisha Reveals the Truth
DNisha’s eyes filled with anger as she remembered everything Anthony had said to her.
“Wayne, Anthony isn’t the person you think he is. He is greedy, and he is completely against you. He pretends to be your friend, but I don’t think he truly wants you to succeed.”
Wayne slowly sat down in his chair.
For several moments, he didn’t say a word.
His mind began going through every conversation he had ever had with Anthony.
Every strange warning.
Every unnecessary question.
Every time Anthony had tried to interfere with Wayne’s decisions.
Wayne had ignored all of those things because he trusted him.
“DNisha… if what you’re saying is true, then why would Anthony do this? What does he actually want?”
DNisha remained silent.
That silence made Wayne even more suspicious.
“You’re still hiding something from me, aren’t you?”
DNisha looked away.
4. Wayne Begins to Doubt Anthony
Wayne stood up and walked toward the window. He stared outside, but his thoughts were somewhere else.
For years, he had considered Anthony one of his closest friends. He had trusted him with his plans, his business, and even his personal problems.
But now, for the first time, Wayne wondered whether Anthony had been manipulating him all along.
“Maybe I was wrong about him…”
DNisha looked at him sadly.
“I didn’t want to hurt you, Wayne. That’s why I was afraid to tell you. But I couldn’t keep working with you while Anthony was threatening me.”
Wayne immediately turned toward her.
“Threatening you? What exactly did he say?”
DNisha opened her mouth, but before she could answer, Wayne’s phone suddenly rang.
The sound echoed through the silent office.
Wayne looked at the screen.
It was an unknown number.
5. The Mysterious Message
Wayne answered the call, but nobody spoke.
After a few seconds, the call ended.
A message immediately appeared on his phone.
Wayne’s heart began beating faster.
He slowly looked at DNisha.
“DNisha… do you know this number?”
The moment DNisha saw the message, all the color disappeared from her face.
She looked terrified.
“Wayne…”
She paused.
“I know this number.”
Wayne’s eyes widened.
“Whose number is it?”
DNisha looked toward the office door.
“That’s the problem… it’s not Anthony’s number.”
Before Wayne could ask another question, they suddenly heard footsteps outside the office.
Both of them went silent.
The footsteps stopped directly outside the door.
Then the door handle slowly began to move.
Wayne looked at DNisha.
DNisha looked terrified.
The door began to open…
