Brooke’s New Car and Isaiah’s Sudden Anxiety

A dramatic story of distance, silence, and an unexpected confrontation

Brooke’s Surprise Gift

When Brooke’s father surprised her with a brand-new car, she was completely overwhelmed with happiness. She could hardly believe that the beautiful car sitting in front of her was really hers. Her father had gifted it to her because he wanted to see her happy and independent, and Brooke immediately felt grateful for the thoughtful gesture.

She walked around the car several times, admiring every detail. The shiny exterior, the comfortable interior, and the beautiful new-car feeling made her smile. She immediately took out her phone because, despite all the excitement, there was one person who came to her mind first—Isaiah.

Isaiah Was Still on Her Mind

Brooke had been thinking about him for quite some time. Their relationship had recently become complicated, and Isaiah had not been giving her the same attention he used to. He had become distant, sometimes taking a long time to respond to her messages and occasionally ignoring her calls altogether.

Still, Brooke wanted to share her happiness with him. She picked up her phone and was just about to call Isaiah when Sharra noticed what she was doing.

Sharra Stops Brooke

“Brooke, wait,” Sharra said firmly.

Brooke looked at her mother. “What?”

“Don’t call him.”

Brooke frowned. “But I just got this amazing car. I want to tell him.”

Sharra shook her head.

“That’s exactly what you shouldn’t do right now. You’ve been calling and messaging him too much lately, and what has he been doing? Ignoring you.”

Brooke became quiet.

Sharra’s Advice

Sharra continued, “The more you chase him, the more comfortable he becomes with ignoring you. Give him some space. Stop calling. Stop sending messages. Let him wonder where you are and what you’re doing.”

Brooke looked down at her phone. “So what am I supposed to do?”

Sharra smiled. “Post your new car.”

“My car?” Brooke asked, surprised.

“Yes. Put up a nice picture. You don’t have to mention Isaiah. You don’t even have to say anything about him. Just let people see that your father gave you this beautiful new car.”

“Trust me. If Isaiah still cares, he will notice. And when he sees that you’re happy, enjoying your life, and not running after him, he may suddenly remember how much he misses you.”

Brooke thought about it for a moment. She knew Sharra had a point.

The Post That Changed Everything

Instead of calling Isaiah, Brooke took several pictures of the new car. She chose the best one and posted it on social media.

She didn’t tag Isaiah. She didn’t send him the picture privately. She didn’t even mention him.

She simply posted the picture and put her phone down.

For a few minutes, nothing happened.

Then Brooke’s phone suddenly lit up.

It was Isaiah.

He had seen the post.

Isaiah Starts Calling

Brooke looked at the screen but didn’t answer.

A few seconds later, Isaiah called again.

Brooke let the phone ring.

Another call came.

Then another.

Sharra looked over at her and smiled. “I told you.”

Brooke still refused to answer.

Isaiah started sending messages.

“Hey, Brooke.”

“Where are you?”

“Why aren’t you answering?”

Brooke read the messages but remained silent. Isaiah continued calling. He seemed unusually anxious now. The same person who had previously taken hours to respond to Brooke was suddenly unable to stop contacting her.

Isaiah Decides to Go to Brooke

Brooke looked at Sharra.

Sharra simply said, “Don’t give in yet.”

Brooke nodded. She placed the phone face down on the table and tried to enjoy her evening.

But Isaiah wasn’t giving up.

After several unanswered calls and messages, he finally decided that texting wasn’t enough.

He got into his car and drove straight toward Brooke’s house.

The Unexpected Confrontation

Meanwhile, Brooke had decided to take her new car out for a drive. She wanted some fresh air and a little time to herself.

She started the engine and slowly drove through the neighborhood. She had no idea that Isaiah was already on his way to find her.

As Brooke approached her street, she suddenly noticed someone standing ahead of her.

It was Isaiah.

He had positioned himself directly in front of her car.

Brooke immediately slowed down. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

Isaiah raised both hands, signaling for her to stop.

Brooke brought the car to a complete stop.

For a moment, neither of them said anything.

“What Exactly Do You Want From Me?”

Isaiah looked anxious and frustrated, as though he had been trying desperately to get her attention.

Brooke, however, didn’t smile. She didn’t look excited to see him. Instead, she stared at him through the windshield with a serious expression.

Isaiah slowly approached the driver’s side.

Brooke rolled down the window just enough to hear him.

“Brooke, can we talk?”

She stared at him.

“About what?”

Isaiah hesitated. “I’ve been trying to reach you.”

Brooke gave him a cold look. “I noticed.”

Isaiah looked uncomfortable. “You wouldn’t answer my calls.”

Brooke crossed her arms. “And now you’re standing in front of my car?”

“I just wanted to see you,” Isaiah said.

Brooke shook her head. “That’s funny. Because when I was trying to see you, you were nowhere to be found.”

Isaiah became quiet.

Brooke looked at him for a few seconds before asking the question that had been sitting in her mind ever since he appeared.

“So, Isaiah… what exactly do you want from me now?”

Isaiah had no immediate answer. And for the first time, he realized that Brooke wasn’t the same person who had been chasing after him.

This time, Brooke was the one holding the power.
