Dave Confronts Wayne Over Amber’s Contract
DAVE CONFRONTS WAYNE OVER AMBER’S CONTRACT
INT. WAYNE’S PODCAST OFFICE – EVENING
The sun is slowly disappearing behind the city skyline. Inside Wayne’s luxurious podcast office, everything is quiet. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the city while expensive furniture fills the room.
Wayne sits behind his large desk, reviewing several contracts. His expression is calm and focused. He believes he has complete control over the situation.
Suddenly, the office door opens.
Dave walks inside. His face is serious, and his body language makes it clear that he did not come for a friendly conversation.
WAYNE:
“What are you doing here, Dave?”
Dave slowly closes the door behind him and walks toward the desk. His jaw is tight as he tries to control his emotions.
DAVE:
“I came here to talk to you about Amber.”
Wayne leans back in his chair. He already knows exactly where this conversation is going.
WAYNE:
“Amber?”
DAVE:
“Yes. Amber.”
Dave takes a step closer to Wayne’s desk.
DAVE:
“Why are you forcing Amber to sign that contract?”
Wayne slowly puts the papers down. A small smile appears on his face.
WAYNE:
“Because she needs to sign it.”
DAVE:
“That’s not an answer.”
WAYNE:
“It’s the only answer you’re getting.”
Dave takes a deep breath. He is clearly becoming frustrated.
DAVE:
“You’re putting pressure on all the girls, Wayne. But Amber isn’t going to sign something just because you tell her to.”
Wayne slowly stands from his chair and walks around the desk. The atmosphere instantly becomes tense.
WAYNE:
“You seem to be forgetting something.”
DAVE:
“What?”
WAYNE:
“I’m the boss here.”
Wayne points toward the contracts sitting on his desk.
WAYNE:
“This is my podcast. My business. My contracts. And I decide what happens inside these walls.”
DAVE:
“That doesn’t mean you can control everyone.”
WAYNE:
“I can do whatever I want.”
Wayne’s voice becomes colder as he steps closer to Dave.
WAYNE:
“I’m the boss, Dave. People who work here follow my rules.”
DAVE:
“You may be the boss, but that doesn’t give you the right to force people into things they don’t want.”
Wayne stares directly into Dave’s eyes.
WAYNE:
“You came all the way here to defend Amber?”
DAVE:
“Absolutely.”
WAYNE:
“Then tell Amber to sign the contract.”
DAVE:
“And if she refuses?”
WAYNE:
“Then she can deal with the consequences.”
Dave’s expression changes. He can no longer hide his anger.
DAVE:
“You really think you can threaten people like that?”
WAYNE:
“I’m not threatening anyone. I’m simply reminding everyone who’s in charge.”
Dave clenches his fists. He tries to stay calm, but Wayne’s attitude pushes him closer to the edge.
DAVE:
“You may be the boss of this podcast, Wayne… but you can’t treat everyone like this.”
WAYNE:
“Or what?”
The room suddenly falls silent. Dave and Wayne stare at each other.
Wayne takes one final step forward.
WAYNE:
“You should stay out of matters that don’t concern you.”
DAVE:
“Amber concerns me.”
Wayne gives Dave a cold look.
WAYNE:
“Then you’re making a very big mistake.”
Dave suddenly loses his temper and punches Wayne.
THUD!

Wayne stumbles backward. The papers on the desk scatter across the floor.
For several seconds, nobody speaks.
Wayne slowly touches his face. His eyes are filled with shock and anger.
WAYNE:
“You just punched me?”
DAVE:
“Yes.”
DAVE:
“You may be the boss of the podcast, but you can’t treat people like they’re your property.”
Wayne slowly straightens his jacket. His anger is now obvious.
WAYNE:
“You have no idea what you just started.”
DAVE:
“I know exactly what I started.”
WAYNE:
“You walked into my office, challenged my authority, and put your hands on me.”
DAVE:
“Because you wouldn’t listen.”
WAYNE:
“You think punching me changes anything?”
DAVE:
“No. But maybe it makes you realize that people aren’t going to keep standing there while you push them around.”
Wayne looks toward the contract papers scattered across the floor. Then he looks back at Dave.
WAYNE:
“Amber sent you here?”
DAVE:
“She didn’t send me. I came because I care about what happens to her.”
WAYNE:
“So this is about Amber?”
DAVE:
“It’s about respect.”
Suddenly, the office door opens.
AMBER stands in the doorway.
AMBER:
“What happened?”
Amber looks from Dave to Wayne. Then she notices the contract papers scattered across the floor.
AMBER:
“Dave?”
DAVE:
“I came to talk to Wayne about your contract.”
AMBER:
“And?”
WAYNE:
“Your friend has a temper.”
AMBER:
“What did you say to him?”
Wayne remains silent for a moment.
DAVE:
“I asked him why he was forcing you to sign the contract.”
WAYNE:
“I wasn’t forcing anyone.”
AMBER:
“Then why did you tell everyone they had to sign?”
Wayne looks directly at Amber.
WAYNE:
“Because I run this podcast.”
AMBER:
“That doesn’t mean you can make every decision for us.”
Wayne looks between Amber and Dave. His patience is clearly running out.
WAYNE:
“You both seem to have forgotten who you’re dealing with.”
DAVE:
“No. We just stopped being afraid of you.”
Wayne’s eyes narrow. The tension in the room reaches its breaking point.
WAYNE:
“You want to know what happens next?”
AMBER:
“Yes.”
Wayne picks up the contract and slowly places it on his desk.
WAYNE:
“If you won’t sign this contract… then I’ll make sure both of you understand the consequences of challenging me.”
Dave and Amber exchange a worried glance.
DAVE:
“Do what you have to do.”
WAYNE:
“Oh, I will.”
Dave takes Amber by the arm and guides her toward the door. Before leaving, he turns around one final time.
DAVE:
“You may be the boss, Wayne. But being the boss doesn’t make you right.”
Dave and Amber leave the office.
The door slowly closes behind them.

Wayne remains alone in his office.

He looks down at Amber’s unsigned contract.

His expression slowly changes from anger to determination.

Wayne picks up his phone.
WAYNE:
“Let’s see how far they’re willing to take this.”
Wayne ends the call and stares toward the closed door.

Outside, Dave and Amber walk down the hallway, unaware of what Wayne is planning next.
FADE OUT.
