SCENE 01 The Deal That Could Change Everything
The day had finally arrived when Anthony and Dave officially signed their contracts with the Kountry Wayne Podcast. Wayne believed their involvement would attract attention and help the show grow.
However, he knew that bringing two men with a complicated history together could create serious problems. He hoped they would leave their personal differences outside the office.
“I really hope these two understand what this opportunity means. This podcast could be a huge success for everybody involved, but only if they learn how to work together.”
Wayne reviewed the signed paperwork and prepared for the meeting. Everything seemed to be going according to plan, but he had no idea what was about to happen.
SCENE 02 Wayne Calls Anthony and Dave
Wayne picked up his phone and called Anthony first.
“Anthony, what’s going on? I need you to come down to the podcast office. Everything is signed, and I want us to go over the details before we get started.”
“All right, Wayne. No problem. I’ll be there shortly.”
Wayne then called Dave and asked him to come to the office as well.
“Dave, I need you here too. We have to discuss the podcast arrangement and make sure everybody understands how we’re going to move forward.”
“That’s fine. I’ll come through. Just let me know what you need from me.”
After ending the calls, Wayne straightened the contracts and prepared the conference room. He wanted a professional meeting without arguments or personal drama.
SCENE 03 Anthony and Dave Meet Face-to-Face
Anthony arrived first and greeted Wayne before taking a seat. A few minutes later, Dave walked through the door.
The atmosphere became uncomfortable, but both men decided to remain polite.
“What’s up, Anthony?”
“What’s going on, Dave?”
Wayne watched them carefully, relieved that they had managed to greet each other without an argument.
“Good. I’m glad both of you made it. We have an opportunity to do something big, and I want us to focus on what we’re here for.”
Dave sat across from Anthony. For a moment, the meeting appeared to be going exactly as Wayne had hoped.
SCENE 04 Wayne Explains the Agreement
Wayne placed the contracts on the table and explained the recording schedule, their responsibilities, and the importance of working together.
“This podcast is going to bring different personalities together. You might disagree with each other, but that doesn’t mean you have to turn everything into a personal issue.”
“I understand that. I’m here because I want to work, and I’m willing to do what I need to do.”
“Same here. I’m not worried about the business side of things. I know how to handle myself.”
Wayne nodded, believing that both men were ready to move forward. But Anthony suddenly looked across the table at Dave and began thinking about Dave’s relationship with Amber.
SCENE 05 Anthony Insults Dave
Anthony shifted in his chair and gave Dave a knowing look. Instead of discussing business, he decided to bring up Dave’s personal life.
“You know, Dave, there’s something I’ve always wondered about you.”
“What are you talking about?”
“If you couldn’t handle Amber, why did you even get into a relationship with her in the first place?”
Dave stared at Anthony in disbelief. He had come to the office to discuss business, not to have his relationship dragged into the conversation.
“Now look at you. You’re struggling, running around looking for money, and trying to figure out what you’re going to do next.”
“You don’t know anything about what I’ve been through, so don’t sit there acting like you know my situation!”
“Then why are you so upset? I’m only telling the truth.”
Wayne immediately realized that the meeting was getting out of control.
“All right, hold on! That’s enough. We are not doing this today.”
SCENE 06 Dave Finally Loses His Temper
Dave suddenly stood up, unable to tolerate Anthony’s insults any longer.
“You called me here to talk about a podcast, not to sit here and listen to you talk about my relationship!”
“What are you going to do about it?”
Wayne raised his hands and tried to calm them down, but neither man was willing to back away.
“Both of you need to sit down! This is a business meeting, not a place to settle personal scores!”
Dave stepped closer to Anthony, pointing his finger at him. Anthony refused to back down and continued provoking him.
“You need to stop playing with me. I came here to handle business, and you’re trying to embarrass me!”
“If you can’t handle a little conversation, how are you going to handle being on a podcast?”
Dave suddenly lunged toward Anthony. The two men collided beside the conference table, knocking chairs aside and sending papers flying across the floor.
SCENE 07 Wayne Desperately Separates Them
Wayne rushed between the two men, desperately trying to stop the fight before anyone got seriously hurt.
“Hey! Stop it! What is wrong with you two? Get back! Both of you!”
“Get out of my way, Wayne! He needs to learn that he can’t talk to me any kind of way!”
“Tell him to calm down! He’s the one acting crazy!”
“Because you kept running your mouth!”
“ENOUGH! Both of you, stop right now! This is my office, and I’m not about to let you destroy everything in here!”
Wayne managed to push the two men apart. He looked at the scattered paperwork and then back at their angry faces, struggling to believe what had happened.
“I brought you here because I wanted us to build something together. I thought we could sit down, discuss the business, and move forward like adults.”
“Those papers represent an opportunity. And before we can even get started, you’re fighting in my office over something that has absolutely nothing to do with the podcast!”
Neither man responded immediately. The silence that followed was more uncomfortable than the argument itself.
SCENE 08 An Uncertain Future
After several tense moments, Wayne finally managed to keep the men separated. Dave stepped away, still visibly upset, while Anthony continued to glare at him.
“I’m going to make something very clear. I don’t care what happened between you and Amber. When you’re in this office, you will respect the business and the people working here.”
“I came here to do business, Wayne. I didn’t come here to be disrespected.”
“And I came here to work too. I’m not the one who decided to start a fight.”
“Both of you need to take responsibility for what happened. This isn’t about winning an argument. It’s about whether you can work together without letting your personal problems destroy this opportunity.”
Dave grabbed his belongings and headed toward the door. Before leaving, he stopped and looked back at Anthony.
“This isn’t over. You need to understand that you can’t keep disrespecting me and expect me to sit there quietly.”
“Do whatever you feel you need to do.”
“Don’t start this again! Dave, just leave for now. Anthony, you stay right there. I’m going to figure out what happens next, because this situation has gone too far.”
Dave finally walked out, leaving Wayne and Anthony alone in the office. Wayne looked at Anthony, visibly disappointed.
“I hope you understand that this could cost you more than you think.”
Anthony remained silent. The seriousness of the situation finally began to settle over the room.
