Bethany had no idea that Charlotte had already spoken to her father, Mr. Newburger, about everything that had been happening between her, Larry, and the family. But the moment Bethany found out that Charlotte had told Newburger the truth, her entire mood changed.

“I’m still telling you the same thing,” Charlotte said. “Leave Larry before you get dragged into his problems. You deserve to protect yourself before it is too late.”
