Genesis’s pregnancy story was becoming more suspicious with every passing day. In front of everyone, she would gently rub her stomach and insist that the baby was moving inside her. She spoke with confidence, as though she had nothing to hide. Whenever someone questioned her, she quickly turned the conversation into an emotional moment, reminding everyone that pregnancy could be unpredictable.

Terry tried to believe her. He told himself that his doubts were probably nothing more than overthinking. Yet something about Genesis’s behavior felt different. Her stories did not always match, and the way she reacted whenever someone asked simple questions made Terry increasingly uncomfortable.

Instead of confronting Genesis immediately, Terry decided to observe her quietly. He wanted to know whether his suspicion was based on facts or simply his imagination.

During the following days, he noticed several strange details. Genesis seemed extremely careful whenever anyone came near her stomach. She would change the subject whenever someone mentioned a doctor’s appointment. Sometimes she acted completely normal, while other times she became overly dramatic about the baby’s supposed movements.

Terry kept asking himself the same question: if everything was real, why did Genesis seem so nervous whenever anyone looked too closely?

One night, Terry was walking past a room when he noticed that Genesis was inside alone. The door was slightly open, and the lights were low. He stopped without making a sound.

Genesis was standing in front of a mirror with both hands over her stomach. She moved her hands slowly and repeatedly, almost as if she were practicing how to make someone believe that something was moving beneath her clothes.

Terry’s eyes widened. He remained outside the doorway, afraid that even the smallest sound would expose him.

For several moments, Genesis continued. Then she suddenly stopped.

Genesis slowly looked toward the doorway.

Terry immediately stepped backward and disappeared into the hallway. His heart was pounding. He did not know whether Genesis had actually seen him or simply felt that someone was nearby.

A few seconds later, he heard the door close.

Terry stayed silent in the hallway. At that moment, his doubts became much stronger. He could no longer convince himself that everything was normal. Whatever Genesis was hiding, she was clearly afraid of someone discovering it.

But Terry still needed proof.

The next morning, Terry finally decided that he could not keep pretending. He waited until Genesis was alone and looked directly at her.


Genesis froze.

For one brief second, the confidence disappeared from her face. Her expression turned pale, and she seemed unable to find the right words. Then she forced a smile and tried to laugh off the question.

“Why would you even ask me something like that?” she replied.

Terry did not smile. He had seen her reaction, and that reaction told him more than her words ever could.

Genesis quickly changed the subject, but Terry refused to let the moment disappear. He did not accuse her of lying because he knew that one accusation could make her hide the truth even deeper.

Instead, Terry decided to wait for the one place where the truth would be much harder to manipulate: her next doctor’s appointment.

He planned to follow her without telling her. His goal was simple. He wanted to see whether Genesis would actually attend the appointment and whether the medical records and examination matched everything she had been telling everyone.

The closer the appointment came, the more nervous Terry became. He knew that whatever happened next could completely change his relationship with Genesis.

Finally, the day arrived. Genesis left the house, looking unusually serious. Terry waited a few moments before following her from a distance.

As he watched her disappear toward the clinic, he wondered whether he was about to prove his worst fears wrong—or uncover the biggest deception Genesis had ever created.

Terry followed her inside and remained far enough away to avoid being noticed. Genesis checked in at the front desk and sat down.

Terry watched carefully.

Then something unexpected happened.

Genesis received a phone call. Her entire expression changed. She stood up immediately, grabbed her belongings, and rushed toward the exit before anyone could stop her.

Terry stared in disbelief.
