BETHANY’S CONFRONTATION
A Dramatic Cinematic Screenplay
SCENE 1 — OUTSIDE SHARRA’S HOUSE
The afternoon is quiet. Bethany walks toward Sharra’s house with a serious expression on her face. She knows the conversation ahead may not be easy, but she wants to resolve the situation peacefully.
She takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.
After a moment, the door opens.
Sharra’s mom stands there and looks at Bethany with immediate suspicion.
BETHANY
“I came here because I want to talk to you calmly. I don’t want any more problems between us.”
SHARRA’S MOM
“You came here to lecture me?”
Bethany remains calm and tries to explain herself.
BETHANY
“No. I came because I want us to find a solution.”
Sharra’s mom steps outside and closes the door behind her.
SHARRA’S MOM
“There is nothing to discuss with you.”
Bethany takes a breath and continues trying to keep the conversation peaceful.
SCENE 2 — THE ARGUMENT
The conversation quickly becomes tense. Bethany tries to keep her voice steady, but Sharra’s mom continues speaking harshly to her.
BETHANY
“You don’t have to treat me like this. I’m only trying to help resolve the situation.”
SHARRA’S MOM
“You should worry about yourself before worrying about me.”
Bethany looks frustrated but continues speaking.
BETHANY
“I’m asking you to go back to the police and complete your sentence. After that, you’ll be released with dignity. You can put all of this behind you.”
For a moment, there is silence.
Then Sharra’s mom becomes furious.
SHARRA’S MOM
“How dare you tell me that?”
Bethany takes a small step back.
BETHANY
“I’m only telling you what I believe is the right way to resolve this.”
SHARRA’S MOM
“You don’t get to decide my future!”
BETHANY
“I’m not trying to decide your future.”
The tension continues to rise.
SCENE 3 — THE WARNING
Bethany reaches into her pocket and takes out her phone.
BETHANY
“If you continue behaving rudely with me like this, I’m going to call the police.”
Sharra’s mom stares at the phone in Bethany’s hand.
SHARRA’S MOM
“You think you’re going to threaten me with the police?”
BETHANY
“I’m not threatening you. I’m warning you.”
Bethany begins dialing.
Suddenly, Sharra approaches after hearing the argument.
SHARRA
“What’s happening?”
SHARRA’S MOM
“She came here to threaten us!”
BETHANY
“That’s not what happened. I came here to talk.”
SCENE 4 — EVERYTHING GOES WRONG
The atmosphere suddenly changes.
Sharra and her mother move toward Bethany.
BETHANY
“Stay back. I don’t want to fight with either of you.”
Bethany tries to move away, but the confrontation escalates.
Her phone falls to the ground.
BETHANY
“Stop! Just leave me alone!”
The confrontation continues for several moments.
Then everything becomes quiet.
Bethany is left on the ground and cannot respond.
Sharra and her mother look at each other before moving away.

OFFICER
“You both need to come with us.”
SHARRA
“Wait! You don’t understand what happened.”
OFFICER
“You can explain everything at the station.”
Sharra’s mother protests, but the officers take both women into custody.

An ambulance arrives to help Bethany.
Larry remains nearby, still visibly shaken.
He watches as Bethany is taken away for medical attention.
LARRY
“I should have been here sooner.”
An officer approaches Larry.

Larry quietly nods.
LARRY
“I just hope she’s okay.”
