Brooke’s Stress Takes a Toll 💔🏫
The evening at the house had started quietly, but Brooke was already having a difficult day.
She had been thinking constantly about Isaiah, and everything that had happened between them
was weighing heavily on her mind.
Brooke sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone. She looked exhausted and distracted.
Brooke: “Why does everything have to be so complicated with Isaiah?
I keep trying to understand him, but I just end up feeling worse.”
She placed her phone down and took a deep breath.
Larry Gives Brooke a Two-Day Warning ⚠️
A few moments later, Larry walked into the room. He could see immediately that Brooke was not herself.
Larry: “Brooke, we need to talk.”
Brooke: “About what?”
Larry remained calm, but his voice was serious.
Larry: “You have two days to get yourself together
and start focusing on college. You can’t keep putting everything on hold because of what’s happening with Isaiah.”
Brooke’s expression changed instantly.
Brooke: “Two days?”
Larry: “Yes. I’m not saying this because I want to hurt you. I’m saying it because I know you have goals,
and I don’t want to see you throw them away.”
Brooke became overwhelmed by everything she was hearing. She was already worried about Isaiah.
Now she was worried about college, her future, and disappointing her family.
Brooke: “Dad, I’m trying. I really am.”
Larry: “Then I need you to show me that you’re trying.”
Brooke: “I just don’t know what to do anymore.”
Larry noticed that Brooke was becoming increasingly upset.
Larry: “Okay, slow down. You don’t have to solve everything tonight.”
But Brooke was already feeling overwhelmed.
Bethany Notices Brooke Isn’t Feeling Well ❤️
Later that evening, Bethany came into Brooke’s room and immediately noticed something was wrong.
Bethany: “Brooke, sweetheart, what happened?”
Brooke: “It’s everything. Isaiah… college… Dad…
I feel like everyone expects me to have everything figured out.”
Bethany sat beside her.
Bethany: “You don’t have to have everything figured out right now.”
Brooke leaned back against her pillow.
Brooke: “I just feel so stressed.”
Bethany: “Then we’re going to take this one step at a time.”
As the evening continued, Brooke’s condition seemed to get worse. She became increasingly weak and uncomfortable,
and Bethany became concerned.
Larry: “What’s going on?”
Bethany: “She’s not feeling well. I think we should have a doctor check her.”
Larry: “Let’s go.”
At the Doctor’s Office 🏥
Larry and Bethany helped Brooke get ready, and they took her to see a doctor.
At the clinic, the doctor spoke with Brooke and asked her several questions about how she had been feeling recently.
After examining her, the doctor calmly explained what might be contributing to her symptoms.
Doctor: “Brooke, it appears that you’ve been under a significant amount of stress lately.
Stress can affect the way your body feels, especially when you aren’t getting enough rest and you’re constantly worrying.”
Brooke: “So this is because I’ve been so stressed?”
Doctor: “Stress may be playing a major role. You need to rest, stay hydrated, eat properly,
and give yourself some time to recover. If your symptoms continue or become worse, you should come back for another evaluation.”
Larry looked down, clearly feeling guilty. He had wanted Brooke to take college seriously,
but he hadn’t realized how overwhelmed she had become.
Larry: “Doctor, thank you.”
Larry Apologizes to Brooke 💔
After they left the examination room, Larry approached Brooke. His voice was much softer than before.
Larry: “Brooke, I’m sorry.”
Brooke: “For what?”
Larry: “For putting so much pressure on you. I was trying to make you understand how important your future is,
but I should have realized that you were already dealing with a lot.”
Brooke became emotional.
Brooke: “I know you want what’s best for me, Dad.”
Larry: “I do. More than anything.”
He paused before continuing.
Larry: “But I don’t want you thinking that you have to carry everything by yourself.”
Bethany: “Exactly. College matters, but so does your well-being.”
Brooke wiped her eyes and gave a small nod.
Brooke: “I’m scared about everything changing.”
Larry: “Change can be scary. But we’ll figure it out together.
You don’t have to make every decision tonight.”
A Family Promise ❤️
For the first time that evening, Brooke seemed a little calmer.
The situation with Isaiah still hurt, and college was still ahead of her,
but she finally understood something important: she had people around her who cared about her.
Larry looked at Brooke and spoke sincerely.
Larry: “We’ll take the next two days one step at a time. No more pressure.
We’re going to focus on getting you feeling better first.”
Brooke: “Okay, Dad.”
Bethany: “That’s all we need to do right now.”
The three of them left together, knowing that the road ahead would not be easy—
but this time, Brooke would not have to face it alone. ❤️🏫
